Objective: To investigate effect of the treatments and prognostic factors of patients with pulmonary metastasis from colorectal cancer.
Methods: Clinical data of 79 patients who suffered from lung metastatic diseases from colorectal cancer in 1990 - 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. The number of patients who had received lung operation was 22, and non-operated group contained 57 patients. Compared the prognosis of operated group and non-operated group and analyzed the prognostic factors.
Results: The median survival time after the pulmonary resections was 34.5 months; the overall survival of 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates were 90.9%, 45.4% and 4.5%, and the overall of 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rate in non-operated group were 59.6%, 14.0% and 0. The surgery (RR = 4.805, 95% CI: 1.864 - 12.384, P = 0.001) and the number of metastasis (RR = 2.177, 95% CI: 1.431 - 3.314, P = 0.010) were the factors that could influence the patients prognosis.
Conclusion: The surgery for pulmonary metastases from colorectal cancer is effective.

: About 65 million people worldwide are affected by epilepsy, with temporal lobe epilepsy being the most common type resistant to drugs and often requiring surgical treatment. Although open surgical approaches, such as temporal lobectomy, have been the method of choice for decades, minimally invasive MRgLITT has demonstrated promising results. However, it remains unknown whether patients who underwent one of these two approaches would show better performance on vestibulo-spatial tasks.

Background: Subacromial pain is a common and disabling condition with multifactorial aetiology. Increasing evidence supports exercises as first-line treatment and need of surgery is debated. Long-term follow-ups after surgical- and non-surgical treatment are scarce.

Purpose: To evaluate the role of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Serratia marcescens, and Moraxella catarrhalis in the nasal and ocular surface flora, along with their metabolic activities in children with unilateral congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO).
Methods: Swabs were taken from the bilateral inferior meatus and ocular surface of 26 children with unilateral CNLDO before probing. Nasal and ocular surface swabs from non-operated eyes of children who underwent unilateral blepharoptosis or strabismus surgery formed the control group.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effects of an antioxidant-conjugated Hyaluronic Acid (HA), specifically HA-4-aminoresorcinol (HA4AR), on articular cartilage and subchondral bone in osteoarthritis (OA). We conducted a comparative analysis between HA4AR and a commercially available high molecular weight HA formulation in a rabbit model of OA.
Materials And Methods: Eighteen rabbits underwent unilateral anterior cruciate ligament transection (ACLT) and were divided into three groups of six: Saline-group, HA-group, and HA4AR-group, based on the type of intra-articular injection received.

Background: Dixon-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) intramuscular proton density fat fraction (PDFF) is a potentially useful imaging biomarker of muscle quality. However, multi-vendor, multi-site reproducibility of intramuscular PDFF quantification, required for large clinical studies, can be strongly dependent on acquisition and processing. The purpose of this study was (I) to develop a 6-point Dixon MRI-based acquisition and processing technique for reproducible multi-vendor, multi-site quantification of thigh intramuscular PDFF; and (II) to evaluate the ability of the technique to detect differences in thigh muscle status between operated .
