Expansive laminoplasty, a procedure used for cervical myelopathy, was carried out in 4 patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis. The method was used in relatively young patients with severe low back and sciatic pain who had intraspinal ossification at multiple segments, with or without developmental spinal stenosis. The advantages of osteoplastic enlargement of the lumbar spinal canal with reinforcement of spinal stability are confirmed by our follow up of 2 to 5 1/2 years. The results were very satisfactory in each case. The indications and operative technique are described.

Background: Spinal manipulation (MAN) and mobilization (MOB) are biomechanically different yet both elicit pain reduction and increased range of motion. Previous investigations have focused on quantifying kinetics (e.g.

Objective: To illustrate the role of dehydrocorydaline (DHC) in chronic constriction injury (CCI)-induced neuropathic pain and the underlying mechanism.
Methods: C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 3 groups by using a random number table, including sham group (sham operation), CCI group [intrathecal injection of 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)], and CCI+DHC group (intrathecal injection of DHC), 8 mice in each group. A CCI mouse model was conducted to induce neuropathic pain through ligating the right common sciatic nerve.

Surgical site infections (SSIs) are a significant concern following posterior lumbar fusion surgery, leading to increased morbidity and healthcare costs. Accurate prediction of SSI risk is crucial for implementing preventive measures and improving patient outcomes. This study aimed to construct and validate a nomogram predictive model for assessing the risk of SSIs following posterior lumbar fusion surgery.

Introduction: Recurrent lumbar disc herniation (rLDH) remains a challenge in spinal surgery. This systematic review analyzes the use of transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (TFED) for the treatment of rLDH.
Methods: A comprehensive search of 4 electronic databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Cochrane, was conducted.

Opioids are potent analgesics in clinical pain management but exert variable analgesia in different pain types. Opioid-induced constipation is a common side effect of opioid therapy, and whether opioids induce different gastrointestinal motility inhibitions in different pain types is unknown. In this study, we evaluated the antinociceptive effects and inhibition of upper gastrointestinal transit and colonic bead expulsion of morphine, DAMGO, and Deltorphin in mouse CFA chronic inflammatory pain, SNI chronic neuropathic pain, and carrageenan chronic inflammatory pain models.
