A growing proportion of people living with HIV/AIDS also struggle to cope with one or several noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), particularly as they age. The two epidemics being intertwined, there is increasing recognition that that there should be closer advocacy, policy and programmatic links between HIV and NCDs. The objective of this paper is to discuss the development of a research agenda geared towards informing the design and implementation of programs and policies truly grounded in a co-benefits approach. Tackling the joint epidemics of HIV/AIDS and NCDs in Africa will require for research funders and private and foreign aid donors to be bold, visionary and to commit to long-term research investments in order to evaluate the effects of natural policy experiments and complex interventions.

Introduction: COVID-19 has caused tremendous hardships and challenges around the globe. Due to the prevalence of asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic carriers, relying solely on disease testing to screen for infections is not entirely reliable, which may affect the accuracy of predictions about the pandemic trends. This study is dedicated to developing a predictive model aimed at estimating of the dynamics of COVID-19 at an early stage based on wastewater data, to assist in establishing an effective early warning system for disease control.

Severe obesity is often associated with inflammation and insulin resistance (IR), which expected to increase the risks of mortality and cancers. However, this relationship remains controversial, and it's unclear whether healthy lifestyles can mitigate these risks. The independent and joint associations of severe obesity (body mass index ≥ 35 m/kg), inflammation (C-reactive protein > 10 mg/L and systemic inflammation markers > 9th decile), and IR surrogates with the risks of all-cause mortality and all-site cancers, were evaluated in 163,008 participants from the UK Biobank cohort.

Background: Depression and cardiovascular health (CVH) are interconnected, and both are independently associated with mortality. However, the joint effects of depressive symptoms and CVH on mortality remain unclear.
Methods: By utilizing the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007-2018, we included 18,679 adults aged ≥20 years without cardiovascular diseases (CVD).

Purpose: The present study aims to provide normative values for Hand Grip Strength (HGS) and Hand Pinch Strength of healthcare staff and evaluate key body anthropometric predictors of these strengths.
Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted on 2,337 healthcare staff. HGS and pinch strength were assessed for both hands using a hydraulic hand dynamometer and pinch gauge.

Background: Growing evidence indicates that people with neurodegenerative diseases have altered metabolic status, but the association between metabolic age (MetAge), as assessed by circulating plasma metabolomics, and dementia remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the association between MetAge and risk of dementia and to explore whether genetic background plays a role in these associations.
Method: From the UK Biobank, 153,436 dementia-free adults aged ≥55 (mean age 62.
