Evidence-based policymaking has increased policymakers' capacity to make scientifically informed health policy decisions. However, reaping the benefits of this approach requires avoiding untrustworthy research - potential sources of which are predatory journals. In this study, we sought to understand how research cited in policy documents is sourced and evaluated, and identify factors that may be contributing to the citation of predatory journals or other less trustworthy evidence.

Nitrogen (N) transformation inhibitors have been widely recognized as a promising strategy to enhance crop productivity and mitigate N losses. However, the effectiveness of individual or combined inhibitors can vary significantly across different agroecosystems. Using meta-analysis and cost-benefit analysis (CBA), we synthesized findings from 41 peer-reviewed studies (285 observations) globally to evaluate the efficacy of urease inhibitors (UIs), nitrification inhibitors (NIs), and combined inhibitors (UINIs).

After decades of gradual progress from conceptualization to early clinical trials (1960-2000), the therapeutic potential of bispecific antibodies (bisp Abs) is now being fully realized. Insights gained from both successful and unsuccessful trials are helping to identify which mechanisms of action, antibody formats, and targets prove most effective, and which may benefit from further refinement. While T-cell engagers remain the most commonly used class of bisp Abs, current efforts aim to increase their effectiveness by co-engaging costimulatory molecules, reducing escape mechanisms, and countering immunosuppression.

Revealing excellent materials for bone defect repair or bionic periosteum fabrication, as well as addressing infection post orthopedic implantation, continue to pose challenges in bone tissue engineering. Reaping the benefits of electrospinning technology, poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL) nanofibers have been fabricated, exhibiting excellent biocompatibility and plasticity. In this study, electrospun PCL nanofiber was employed as a substrate to generate an alternative with promising clinical potential.
