Objectives: There is no consensus on elective lymphatic dissection of the parotid and neck for nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC) due to challenges in detecting occult spread to these regions. This study aimed to summarize clinical data and evaluate correlations between risk factors, nodular metastasis, and the need for elective parotidectomy in patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), and apocrine carcinoma (AC) of the head and neck, all with clear surgical margins and negative imaging results for regional metastases.
Study Design: We retrospectively reviewed 166 patients with CSCC, one with MCC, and one with AC of the head and neck, all treated surgically between September 2006 and July 2022.

Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare ulcerative condition that poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Diagnosis and appropriate management are often delayed due to its rarity and the presence of numerous clinical variants. In this case report, the authors present the case of a 36-year-old man who had long-standing and nonhealing ulcers that did not respond to multiple antibiotics and serial wound debridement.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a vector-borne disease caused by the obligate intracellular protozoan in India. VL can be complicated by post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), a macular or nodular rash that develops in 10%-20% of patients after treatment of VL in India. Patients with PKDL are infectious to sand flies, promoting further transmission of the parasite.

The glycocalyx is an essential structural and functional component of endothelial cells. Chronic venous disease (CVD) is a common disorder of the lower extremities with major health and socio-economic implications, but complex pathophysiology.

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM), or myositis, are a heterogeneous group of autoimmune disorders that can affect multiple organs, including the muscles, skin, joints, lungs, heart, and gastrointestinal tract. While new-onset myositis has been reported following SARS-CoV-2 infection, cases associated with COVID-19 vaccination remain rare. We describe a unique case of severe progressive edematous facial myositis resembling angioedema in a 22-year-old man, with onset one to two weeks after receiving dual SARS-CoV-2 and influenza vaccinations.
