Naunyn Schmiedebergs Arch Pharmacol

January 2025

Department of Infectious Diseases, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China.

Emodin, as a natural active ingredient, has shown great application potential in the fields of medicine, food and cosmetics due to its unique pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancer, etc. In recent years, with the development of science and technology and the increase of people's demand for natural medicine, emodin research has been paid more and more attention by the global scientific research community. The bibliometric analysis of emodin and the construction of knowledge map are still blank.

Introduction Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence guided surgery (FGS) is reported extensively in adult operations, but its safety and applications in Pediatric populations remain to be comprehensively understood. The dose, administration protocols and intraoperative imaging benefits in Pediatric hepatobiliary operations are not clear. Objectives To identify the feasibility and applications of ICG Fluorescence Guided Surgery (FGS) in hepatobiliary surgeries (for biliary atresia, choledochal cyst, and cholelithiasis) in children.

Background: Huntington's disease (HD) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expansion of the CAG trinucleotide repeat in the huntingtin gene which encodes the mutant huntingtin protein (mHTT) that is associated with HD-related neuropathophysiology. Noninvasive visualization of mHTT aggregates in the brain, with positron emission tomography (PET), will allow to reliably evaluate the efficacy of therapeutic interventions in HD. This study aimed to assess the radiation burden of [F]CHDI-650, a novel fluorinated mHTT radioligand, in humans based on both in vivo and ex vivo biodistribution in mice and subsequent determination of dosimetry for dosing in humans.

Improved detection of gallbladder perforation by contrast-enhanced ultrasound: two case reports.

Front Med (Lausanne)

December 2024

Department of Ultrasound, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.

Acute cholecystitis is a common acute abdominal disease, but the occurrence of secondary gallbladder perforation is relatively rare, and poses a serious threat to the lives of patients. The conventional methods for diagnosing acute cholecystitis are abdominal contrast-enhanced CT and ultrasound. However, these methods may have limitations in detecting gallbladder perforation, especially in cases where perforation size are small.

Objective: To describe postnatal outcome following the prenatal diagnosis of an abnormal fetal gallbladder.

Methods: We conducted a systematic review of studies from January 1980 to January 2023 that described FGB abnormalities, which included agenesis or non-visualisation, abnormal content presence of sludge, abnormal shape or size and abnormal position, and postnatal outcome to determine the association with pathology.

Results: In 51 studies, 842 fetuses had abnormal FGB.
