Results are presented of 24-hour monitoring by Holter's method of ECG in 50 healthy seamen aged 29-55 years (mean 47.7 years), in whom clinical examination, chest radiography, resting ECG records, and echocardiography confirmed normal condition of the cardiovascular system. In 36% of the seamen premature beats of various origin were elicited. Supraventricular extrasystolic beats were demonstrated in 8%, atrioventricular-junction beats in 8%, and ventricular ectopic beats in 18%. In one case simultaneous occurrence of junction beats and ventricular beats was found. In 28% of the subjects sinus bradycardia was noted, and in 1 seaman two episodes of sinus tachycardia were recorded. The intensity of the observed arrhythmias was low.

Background: The QRS axis of the electrocardiogram (ECG) is often considered in clinical practice, but its determination is frequently limited to a rough estimation, such as "normal", with left or right deviation, and superior or inferior in the case of premature ventricular complexes (PVCs). However, a more exact determination of the QRS axis may be warranted in certain scenarios, such as to determine the origin of PVCs more precisely, and is attainable by visual estimation using the hexaxial reference system.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine how well such an estimation of the QRS axis would correlate with the axis calculated by formulas.

Beating-heart CABG in patients with LV dysfunction can provide the best of all words by limiting myocardial injury purported by cardioplegic arrest. Complete revascularization is possible and graft numbers are not different when compared to arrested heart CABG.
