This study aimed to determine key factors for enriching methylotrophic populations for single-cell protein (SCP) production and to determine the predominant active methylotrophs. Microbial populations from rice paddy soils and roots, hotspots for CH oxidation, underwent serial incubation by feeding CH and O. The protein content was primarily influenced by the incubation stage, with a lesser effect from the rice plant roots as an inoculum source, reaching a maximum of 20 % in biomass dominated by Methylomonadaceae and Methylophilaceae.

Phosphite dehydrogenase (PtxD) catalyzes NAD-dependent oxidation of phosphite (Pt) to phosphate (Pi), offering various biotechnological applications, such as the creation of Pt-dependency for the biological containment of genetically modified organisms. Previously, we established a Pt-dependent cyanobacterial strain (RH714) by expressing PtxD and a reduced phosphorous compound-specific transporter (HtxBCDE) in Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 devoid of its endogenous Pi transporters. This strain demonstrated strict Pt dependency but failed to grow in unbuffered BG-11 medium supplemented with 2% CO owing to medium acidification below approximately pH 6.

This study provides a comprehensive assessment of surface ozone (SurfO) evolution in India under the future shared socio-economic pathway scenarios (SSPs) of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase-6 (CMIP6), and its implications for changes in relative yield loss (RYL) of wheat, rice and maize. Scenarios with insufficient efforts to reduce the emission of precursors (e.g.

To address the poor hydrolytic stability of CD-MOF in food applications, CD-MOF loaded with thymol (TCDM) was prepared and filled into a pectin (PEC)/sodium alginate (SA) substrate with the aid of zein to obtain a thymol-CD-MOF/zein-PEC-SA (TCDM/ZPS) polymer film. Characterization revealed that zein-PEC/SA (ZPS) protected TCDM by forming amphiphilic microspheres. TCDM was able to exist stably in the hydrophilic polysaccharide substrate and achieve a long-term slow release over 336 h.

Purpose: To describe the rationale and components of Farm-based Therapy (FBT) as well as examine its preliminary efficacy.
Methods: FBT consists of five empirically supported components, or hands-on experience, sustainability, the life cycle, community, and mindfulness, that were developed in collaboration with clients, their caregivers, and clinicians. We explored the preliminary efficacy of FBT for improving anxiety and mood in new clients, and their parents, using the Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale (RCADS).
