The previously reported uranium(III) complex [(((Ad)ArO)(3)N)U(III)(DME)] (1; Ad = adamantane, DME = 1,2-dimethoxyethane) reacts with the terminal bis-alkynes 1,7-octadiyne or 1,6-heptadiyne in C-C-coupling reactions to form the uranium(IV) vinyl complexes [{(((Ad)ArO)(3)N)U(IV)}(2)(μ-η(2):η(1)-1,2-(CH)(2)-cyclohexane)] (2) and [{(((Ad)ArO)(3)N)U(IV)}(2)(μ-η(2):η(2)-1,2-(CH)(2)-cyclopentane)] (3). With the monoalkynes 1-hexyne or 4-(t)butyl-phenylacetylene, the complexes [{(((Ad)ArO)(3)N)U(IV)}(2)(μ-η(2)(C1):η(1)(C4)-2-(n)Bu-1,3-octadiene)] (4) and [{(((Ad)ArO)(3)N)U(IV)}(2)(μ-η(2)(C4):η(1)(C1)-1,3-di-(p-(t)Bu-phenyl)butadiene))] (5), are formed. These are the first four examples of uranium vinyl complexes that are reported and crystallographically characterized. In addition, detailed DFT calculations are presented to establish a possible mechanism for their formation and explain the differences found for the coordination of the hydrocarbon fragments. In contrast to a previously proposed monometallic pathway for catalytic hydroamination of alkynes and alkyne dimerization involving a uranium vinyl intermediate at uranium(III) complexes, the calculations clearly support a bimetallic mechanism, since its transition states are energetically the most favored.

Considering the complexity in terms of design that characterizes the different tissues of the human body, it is necessary to study and develop more precise therapies. In this sense, this article presents the possibility of fabricating photocurable thermosensitive hydrogels with free geometry and based on N-Vinyl Caprolactam (VCL) with the aim of modulating the adhesion of non-planar cell cultures. The fabrication process is based on the use as a mold of two-layer thick water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) previously printed by Extrusion Material (MatEx).

In this study, a novel polyacrylate-co-vinyl imidazole hydrogel-supported palladium (Pd) catalyst (P(AA-co-VI)@Pd) was prepared through heat-initiated polymerization, starting with the formation of a complex between vinyl imidazole and palladium chloride, followed by the addition of 75% neutralized acrylic acid (AA), crosslinking agent, and initiator. The structure and morphology of the catalyst were characterized using ICP-OES, SEM, EDX, Mapping, FT-IR, TGA, XRD, XPS and TEM techniques. It was confirmed that the catalyst exhibited excellent compatibility with water solvent and uniform distribution of Pd.

To address the issues of infectious virus, bacterial secondary infections, skin pigmentation, and scarring caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV), a sprayable hydrogel with versatile functions was developed with comprehensive properties. Based on current research, the bioactive deep eutectic solvent (DES) of rosmarinic acid-proanthocyanidin-glycol (RPG) was designed and synthesized as active agent, and molecular docking was applied to discover its binding to MPXV proteins through H-bonds and van der Waals interactions, and the docking results show the binding energies between RA, PC, Gly and MPXV proteins are -58.7188, -50.

Highly energetic boron (B) particles embedded in hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) thermosetting polymers represent stable solid-state fuel. Laser-heating of levitated B/HTPB and pure HTPB particles in a controlled atmosphere revealed spontaneous ignition of B/HTPB in air, allowing for examination of the exclusive roles of boron. These ignition events are probed via simultaneous spectroscopic diagnostics: Raman and infrared spectroscopy, temporally resolved high-speed optical and infrared cameras, and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy.
