Composition Of The Committee: The now dissolved Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table (Science Table) was formed in July 2020 to provide decision makers and the public with a synthesis of rapidly evolving evidence related to COVID-19. The Science Table was based at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, and supported by Public Health Ontario.

Sponsorship is gaining recognition in academic surgery as an essential advancement beyond mentorship, particularly for women. While mentorship focuses on building the relationship between mentor and mentee to provide guidance, advice, and coaching, sponsorship entails more active involvement and buy-in from the senior towards the performance and growth of the junior. The ABCDs of sponsorship - Amplifying, Boosting, Connecting, and Defending - are powerful, concrete actions that can make a significant impact in the career and life of a future physician.

Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a potentially life-threatening condition characterized by inflammation of the pancreas, which can lead to complications such as pancreatic necrosis. The modified computed tomography severity index (MCTSI) is a widely used tool for assessing the severity of AP, particularly the extent of pancreatic necrosis. The accurate and timely assessment of the necrosis volume is crucial in guiding treatment decisions and improving patient outcomes.
