We report a case of a 60-year-old male with unsatisfactory visual outcome following an uneventful phacoemulsification surgery for the left eye at our hospital. The evaluation of his anterior segment revealed a clear cornea, a well-positioned in-the-bag intraocular lens (IOL) and normal posterior segment. His vision in the left eye was 20/160 improving to 20/20 with +6.5 D Sphere. Repeat biometry of the left eye revealed IOL power of 22.0 D, which was same as the power of the IOL implanted during the cataract surgery. The patient underwent IOL explantation and implantation of another foldable IOL of 22.0 D. On follow-up he had an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/20. On evaluation with the Scheiner optical system, the explanted lens was found to have power of +13.92 D. This case highlights the rare possibility of postoperative refractory surprise due to incorrect labelling of the IOL by the manufacturer.

This report describes the longest case of a retained metallic intraorbital foreign body with no complications and development of delayed sensory exotropia following traumatic sclopetaria in childhood. A 9-year-old girl suffered a BB gun injury to the left eye, leading to chorioretinitis sclopetaria and loss of vision. The visual acuity was 20/800 with a relative afferent pupillary defect and choroidal rupture with subretinal hemorrhage that evolved to sclopetaria over time.

The appearance of an object triggers an orienting gaze movement toward its location. The movement consists of a rapid rotation of the eyes, the saccade, which is accompanied by a head rotation if the target eccentricity exceeds the oculomotor range and by a slow eye movement if the target moves. Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical manifestation of various underlying causes, characterized by the combination of clinical and imaging findings associated with the posterior cerebral areas and relating to arterial hypertension and endothelial dysfunction. No association was made so far between PRES and McCune-Albright syndrome (MAS), a rare genetic disorder resulting in fibrous dysplasia. A 33-year-old female with MAS was presented to the emergency department of the 417 Army Share Fund Hospital in Athens (Greece) after seizure activity with two episodes of ocular upward deviation and transient facial palsy, each lasting a few minutes, followed by a postictal phase.

The purpose of this manuscript is to report a rare case of pediatric central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in the setting of atypical hypercoagulable tests. An 11-year-old female presented to the emergency department with painless, visual changes in the left eye. Ophthalmological examination was remarkable for a central area of retinal ischemia and edema with sparing along the distribution of the cilioretinal artery along with a cherry red spot, all of which were consistent with a CRAO.
