Objectives: The increasing popularities of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and telehealth indicate a need for digitalizing major clinical assessment methods used during TCM consultations. In this study, an electronic TCM pulse diagnostic system was developed, and its validity was explored.
Materials And Methods: The system was developed with an artificial neural network (ANN). The output neurons were TCM pulse qualities operationalized as the intensity of eight elements (depth, rate, regularity, width, length, smoothness, stiffness, and strength) at six locations (left and right cun, guan, and chi). The input neurons were physical parameters of arterial pressure waveform acquired from the six locations by a pulse acquisition device. TCM pulse quality was rated by a TCM doctor on a 0-10 visual analog scale. Physical parameters were extracted from the arterial pressure waveform with a pulse extraction program developed in-house. The model structure, including number of hidden neurons and hidden layers, and training algorithms were manipulated to optimize model performance. The value of r² was the outcome measure indicating model performance.
Results: Two hundred twenty-nine subjects were recruited. Four-layer ANN models trained with 45 hidden neurons and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm performed the best. The r² ranged from 0.60 to 0.86.
Conclusions: The validity of the proposed system generated by ANN is established and can assist TCM doctors in collecting relevant health data during telehealth consultation.

Misoprostol was originally used to treat gastric ulcers, and has been widely used in abortion, cervical maturation, induced labour and postpartum hemorrhage. But there are still many undetected adverse events (AEs). The purpose of this study was to provide a comprehensive overview of the safety of misoprostol.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture combined with ear tip bloodletting for insomnia with phlegm-fire disturbing heart.
Methods: A total of 60 cases with insomnia of phlegm-fire disturbing heart were selected, and the treatment of electroacupuncture combined with ear tip bloodletting was delivered. Acupuncture was applied at Yintang (GV24), Shenting (GV24), Sishencong (EX-HN1) and bilateral Shenmen (HT7), Quchi (LI11), Zhaohai (KI6), Shenmai (BL62), Fenglong (ST40), Neiting (ST4), Yintang (GV24) and Shenting (GV24) were connected to electroacupuncture, continuous wave, 2 Hz in frequency.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) as one of the most common cardiovascular diseases has attracted great attention due to its high disability and mortality rate. Thus, a timely and effective recognition method for AF is of great importance for diagnosing and preventing it. Herein, we proposed a novel intelligent sensing and recognition system for AF which combined Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), flexible wearable electronic devices, and artificial intelligence.

The high mortality rate of chronic heart failure (CHF) makes it a primary battlefield in the field of cardiovascular diseases. Qiangxin Lishui Prescription (QLP) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription used clinically for treating CHF, but its underlying mechanism remains unclear. This study integrated plasma metabolomics, network pharmacology, and experimental validation to reveal the pharmacological effects of QLP and its potential mechanism of anti-CHF.

Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA), defined as two or more clinically confirmed pregnancies that end before 20-24 weeks of gestation, encompasses both embryonic and fetal losses and is a significant clinical challenge. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of allylestrenol (AT) and progesterone in improving pregnancy outcomes in RSA. From June 2021 to June 2024, 480 participants were randomly assigned to an AT, Progesterone, or Control group.
