Purpose: To retrain a model based on a previously identified prognostic imaging biomarker using apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in a preclinical setting and validate the model using clinical DW-MRI data of patients with locally advanced head-and-neck cancer (HNC) acquired before radiochemotherapy.

Introduction: Although the Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) staging system is widely used for staging lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), the TNM system primarily emphasizes tumor size and metastasis, without adequately considering lymph node involvement. Consequently, incorporating lymph node metastasis as an additional prognostic factor is essential for predicting outcomes in LSCC patients.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with LSCC between 2004 and 2018 and was based on data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database of the National Cancer Institute.

This mandates serial reoperations for implant exchanges until an adult size implant can fit. Partial heart transplantation eliminates these reoperations because the transplanted valves grow.

Previous studies have shown that the majority of long-lived cells harboring persistent HIV-1 proviral genomes originates from viruses circulating in the year prior to antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation, but a smaller proportion originates from viruses circulating much earlier in untreated infection.
