Morphological and immunohistochemical investigation of the women's afterbirth with premature rupture of membranes (PROM) and well-time ruptures of placental membranes has been carried out. Inflammatory infiltration of membranes and placental deficiency were higher at patients with PROM. The absence of inflammatory changes in placental tissue during growth of anhydrous gap was demonstrated. The optical density and square of MMP-1 expression were higher and TIMP-1 was lower in membranes of PROM-group than in the control one. No significant changes were found in expression of collagen-6.

Expression of Adipose Tissue Extracellular Matrix-Related Genes Predicts Weight Loss after Bariatric Surgery.

Cells

April 2023

Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS), Rosselló Street 149, 08036 Barcelona, Spain.

Background: We evaluated the association between white adipose tissue parameters before bariatric surgery (BS) and post-surgical weight loss, with an especial focus on extracellular matrix (ECM) gene expression.

Methods: Paired samples from subcutaneous (SAT) and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) were obtained from 144 subjects undergoing BS. The association between total body weight loss (%TBWL) at 12 months after BS and the histological characteristics and gene expression of selected genes in SAT and VAT was analyzed.

The current study developed a biopolymer-based wound dressing by electrospinning of Nicaraven-loaded collagen solution. Firstly, collagen was dissolved in acetic acid, and then Nicaraven was added to the polymeric solution at three different concentrations of 2 w/w%, 4 w/w%, and 6 w/w%. The resulting solution was then electrospun.

K3.1 Inhibition Decreases Size and Alters Composition of Atherosclerotic Lesions Induced by Low, Oscillatory Flow.

Artery Res

June 2021

Department of Biomedical Sciences, E102 Veterinary Medicine, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO 65211, USA.

Low, oscillatory flow/shear patterns are associated with atherosclerotic lesion development. Increased expression of K3.1 has been found in Vascular Smooth Muscle (VSM), macrophages and T-cells in lesions from humans and mice.

Objective: The COL6A1 is a gene encoding the alpha 1 polypeptide subunit of collagen 6 (COL6A1), an extracellular matrix protein subunit. Programmed cell death receptor-1 (PD-1) and its ligand, programmed cell death receptor ligand-1 (PD-L1) have been shown to have a prognostic significance in clear cell renal cell carcinomas (RCCs). In this study, we evaluated the expressions of COL6A1 and PD-1 in four different RCC subtypes.
