Duodenal damages occurs rarely and constitutes 0.9-5% of all traumas of abdominal organs. The problem is actual because of the condition complicated diagnosis, the absence of standardized surgical tactics and high lethality (from 10-25 up to 40%). As a rule, duodenal damages are revealed intraoperatively. Specific symptoms, characteristic for duodenal damages, are absent. Results of treatment of 28 patients, suffering traumatic duodenal damages, were analyzed and low information value of modern diagnostic methods was noted. There was proved the efficacy of measures for diagnosis of duodenal trauma, using 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of early weaning (EW) on the growth performance, gastrointestinal development, serum parameters, and metabolomics of Hu sheep lambs. Twenty-four male Hu lambs were initially ewe-reared. A total of 12 lambs were weaned at 30 d of age (D30) as the EW group, and the remaining 12 lambs were weaned at 45 d of age (D45) as the control (CON) group.

Background: Simulated microgravity environment can lead to gastrointestinal motility disturbance. The pathogenesis of gastrointestinal motility disorders is closely related to the stem cell factor (SCF)/c-kit signaling pathway associated with intestinal flora and Cajal stromal cells. Moreover, intestinal flora can also affect the regulation of SCF/c-kit signaling pathway, thus affecting the expression of Cajal stromal cells.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Banxia Xiexin Decoction (BXD) is a traditional herbal formulation with a bitter flavor that has a long-standing history of use in Asia for treating functional dyspepsia (FD). In traditional Chinese medicine, the bitter flavor is believed to play a critical role in the therapeutic activity of BXD. The ethnopharmacological properties of bitter plant extracts are closely associated with their anti-inflammatory effects, which may contribute to their efficacy in FD.

Aims: Semaglutide, a novel long-acting GLP-1RA, stimulates insulin and suppresses islet-secreted glucagon to reduce glucose levels. It has been unveiled that m6A mRNA modification plays a pivotal role in regulating β cell function. However, it remains unclear whether semaglutide can elicit protective effects through manipulating m6A modification and the underlying mechanism.

A high recurrence rate is undesirable after treatment of common bile duct (CBD) stones. A major risk factor identified for recurrence is that invasive techniques, including surgical or endoscopic treatments, will impair the biliary tract system either by direct incision of the CBD or by cutting or dilating the ampulla of Vater. During endoscopic treatment, two main assisted methods for lithotomy, sphincterotomy and papillary balloon dilation, can result in different degrees of damage to the structure and function of the sphincter of Oddi (SO), contributing to slowing of biliary excretion, cholestasis, biliary bacterial infection, and promotion of bile duct stone recurrence.
