Lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP) is defined as a chronic recurrent skin disease characterized by waxing and waning papules and nodules with histologic features of a CD30-positive T-cell lymphoma. Three histological subtypes (A, B, and C) were already recognized, and only more recently, a further variant simulating histologically an aggressive epidermotropic CD8-positive T-cell lymphoma was described, which was named LyP type D by the authors. We report the case of a 38-year-old woman presenting with a 1-year history of recurrent self-healing papules and nodules, predominantly affecting her upper and lower limbs but also the face, including the lower lip, with no associated systemic symptoms. A biopsy from 1 lesion revealed an infiltrate of atypical lymphoid cells extending throughout the dermis with massive epidermotropism displaying a pagetoid reticulosis-like pattern and a CD8(+)CD30(+) cytotoxic T-cell phenotype. The clinicopathologic features conformed to the newly described type D variant of LyP. Diagnostic studies did not reveal any systemic involvement, and the patient remains otherwise well with no active treatment. In the present report, we discuss the need for clinicopathologic correlation to establish an accurate diagnosis and its importance for an adequate management of these patients.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) are a heterogeneous group of extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphomas characterised by a cutaneous infiltration of malignant monoclonal T lymphocytes. While this broad spectrum of disease with its varied etiopathogenesis, clinical features and management options are well characterised, an approach from a dermatologist's perspective is lacking in the literature. We strive to elucidate the approach from a clinician's point of view, especially in respect of clinical examination, investigations, staging and management options that are available in the realm of the dermatologists.

Increased expression of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) transaminase 1 (BCAT1) often correlates with tumor aggressiveness and drug resistance in cancer. We have recently reported that BCAT1 was overexpressed in a subgroup of T-cell acute lymphoblastic (T-ALL) samples, especially those with NOTCH1 activating mutations. Interestingly, BCAT1-depleted cells showed pronounced sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents such as etoposide; however, how BCAT1 regulates this sensitivity remains uncertain.

The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with a wide range of diseases, malignant and non-malignant. EBV was, in fact, the first virus described with cell transformation capacity, discovered by Epstein in 1964 in lymphoma samples from African children. Since then, EBV has been associated with several human tumors including nasopharyngeal carcinoma, gastric carcinoma, T-cell lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, diffuse large B cell lymphoma, and Burkitt lymphoma among others.

Background: Classical Hodgkin's lymphoma (cHL) in adolescents between 15 and 18 years old shows a higher disease-related mortality, and the overall prognosis is worse than in both children and adults.
Objectives: We investigated the immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICPIs) therapeutic targets and specific T-regulatory and cytotoxic T-cell subsets in the subgroup of adolescent cHL patients, and we challenged their prognostic power.
Methods: We retrieved formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue of adolescent patients diagnosed with cHL and tested by immunohistochemistry the immune checkpoint molecules CTLA-4, LAG-3, PD-1, and PDL1 as well as the biological markers FOXP3 and CD8.

T-cell lymphomas (TCLs) are rare and aggressive malignancies associated with poor outcomes, often because of the development of acquired drug resistance as well as intolerance to the established and often toxic chemotherapy regimens in elderly and frail patients. The many subtypes of TCL are well established to exhibit marked geographic variation. The epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of TCLs in the Middle East (ME) are yet to be explored; hence, limited data are available about these entities in this part of the world.
