We theoretically show that completely stochastic fast physical random bit generation at a rate of more than one gigabit per second can be realized by using lasers with optical delayed feedback which creates high-dimensional chaos of laser light outputs. The theory is based on the mixing property of chaos, which transduces microscopic quantum noise of spontaneous emission in lasers into random transitions between discrete macroscopic states.

Life history theory suggests that in harsh, unpredictable environments, individuals may benefit from adopting a fast life history strategy. This may involve experiencing boredom more frequently and intensely as an adaptive mechanism to seek novel stimuli, potentially increasing the number of sexual partners and offspring. This study explored the relationship between trait boredom-a chronic characteristic of feeling bored-and fast life history strategies.

The application of neonicotinoid insecticides (NEOs) increases the potential exposure risks and has an impact on the aroma quality of tomato fruits. Here, 3D cornflower-like MoS (MoS-CF) was fabricated to directly activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for fast removal of three typical NEOs. The 3D MoS-CF catalyst achieved over 96.

Multivalent-ion batteries offer an alternative to Li-based technologies, with the potential for greater sustainability, improved safety, and higher energy density, primarily due to their rechargeable system featuring a passivating metal anode. Although a system based on the Ca/Ca couple is particularly attractive given the low electrochemical plating potential of Ca, the remaining challenge for a viable rechargeable Ca battery is to identify Ca cathodes with fast ion transport. In this work, a high-throughput computational pipeline is adapted to (1) discover novel Ca cathodes in a largely unexplored space of "empty intercalation hosts" and (2) develop material design rules for Ca-ion mobility.

Drawing on self-determination theory (SDT), this research examines how the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in hospitality organizations is influencing employee work and career outcomes (well-being and career success). We explore the underlying role of job insecurity in the associations of AI use with employee wellbeing and career success. We further explore the boundary condition effect of technostress in our proposed model.

Mapping the chemical reaction pathways and their corresponding activation barriers is a significant challenge in molecular simulation. Given the inherent complexities of 3D atomic geometries, even generating an initial guess of these paths can be difficult for humans. This paper presents an innovative approach that utilizes neural networks to generate initial guesses for reaction pathways based on the initial state and learning from a database of low-energy transition paths.
