Pure trigeminal motor neuropathy is a very unusual disease that is characterized by trigeminal motor paralysis without trigeminal sensory disturbances and without the involvement of the other cranial nerves. We report a case of pure trigeminal motor neuropathy in a 70-year-old woman. The diagnosis was based on the results of clinical, electromyographic, and radiologic examinations. Only the motor branch of the left trigeminal nerve was damaged. Atrophy of the left-side masticatory muscles and jaw resulted in facial asymmetry. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head and face did not detect any pathologic lesion, with the exception of atrophy and fatty infiltration of the muscles innervated by the left trigeminal motor nerve. The etiology of the patient's pure trigeminal motor neuropathy was undetermined. Patients with suspected trigeminal motor neuropathy should undergo MRI of the head and face to evaluate the sequelae of denervation and to detect an intracranial or extracranial lesion.

Purpose: An atypical presentation of cervical spondylopathy (CS), trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is attributable to the extension of trigeminal nuclei into the spinal cord and is frequently overlooked, leading to limited discussion with patients regarding potential anterior cervical surgery. Our systematic review assesses the effectiveness of cervical surgery for concurrent trigeminal neuralgia in cases of cervical spondylopathy.
Methods: A systematic review exploring cases of trigeminal neuralgia related to cervical spondylopathy was conducted searching on PubMed, Scopus and Embase databases for article in English.

Pain is a major non-motor symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD). The relationship between hyperalgesia and neuropeptides originating from paraventricular nucleus (PVN) in 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) rats has already been investigated for oxytocin (OXT), but not yet for arginine vasopressin (AVP) and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH). Background: There is growing evidence that botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) can mediate changes at the central level through peripheral mechanisms, leading to alterations in central sensorimotor integration.
