Group 4 metallocenes are competent catalysts for the oligomerization of higher α-olefins. Among the many chemical and physical variables of importance in the process, one is the choice of cocatalyst (activator). The impact of various activators on the performance of a representative catalyst, (nBuCp)ZrCl, in the oligomerization of 1-octene was thoroughly investigated; in particular, the molecular weight distribution (MWD) of the oligomers was determined by means of high-resolution high performance liquid chromatography (HR-HPLC).

Due to their diverse chemical properties and high ability to interact with biological molecules and cellular processes, transition metal-based compounds have emerged as promising candidates for cancer therapy. Iron complexes are among them, however, there is a gap in the comprehensive analysis of heterometallic iron complexes in the anticancer field. This review aims to fill this gap by summarizing recent progress in the study of Fe(II) and Fe(III) heterobimetallic complexes for anticancer applications and to gather important insights and future perspectives, with special emphasis on their theranostic capabilities.

Glucose oxidase (GOX)-induced starvation is a safe treatment for tumor. However, the non-specific targeting of GOX and the plasticity of tumor metabolism lead to toxic side effects and low tumor mortality. Thus, it is necessary to develop a synergistic strategy with high tumor targeting specificity to enhance the mortality of GOX.

Understanding the basic structure of the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC) in photosystem II (PS-II) and the water oxidation mechanism can aid in the discovery of more efficient and sustainable catalysts for water oxidation. In this context, we present evidence of the formation of a [(TPA)Mn(O)(μ-O)Ce(NO)] () complex (TPA = tris(pyridyl-2-methyl)amine) by adding aqueous ceric ammonium nitrate to an acetonitrile solution of the [(TPA)Mn] () complex. This unique intermediate () was analyzed by using various spectroscopic techniques and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.

The synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of a NiOH core bearing a tridentate redox-active ligand capable of reaching three molecular oxidation states is presented in this paper. The reduced complex [LNiOH] was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, depicting a square-planar NiOH core stabilized by intramolecular H-bonding interactions. Cyclic voltammetry measurements indicated that [LNiOH] can be reversibly oxidized to [LNiOH] and [LNiOH] at very negative reduction potentials (-1.
