Take five: A unique quintuply bonded dimolybdenum complex [Mo(2)(μ-Li){μ-HC(N-2,6-Et(2)C(6)H(3))(2)}(3)] (see picture) was synthesized and characterized. The Mo-Mo interaction includes an unexpected bridging Li(+) ion. Calculations indicate the bridging Li(+) ion does not perturb the Mo-Mo bond length (2.0612(4) Å), but results in a relatively small effective Mo-Mo bond order of 3.67.

Machine learning (ML) has benefited from both software and hardware advancements, leading to increasing interest in capitalising on ML throughout academia and industry. There have been efforts in the scientific computing community to leverage this development via implementing conventional partial differential equation (PDE) solvers with machine learning packages, most of which rely on structured spatial discretisation and fast convolution algorithms. However, unstructured meshes are favoured in problems with complex geometries.

The use of dual-tracer contrast agents in clinical applications, such as sentinel lymph node (SLN) identification, offers significant advantages including enhanced accuracy, sensitivity, as well as comprehensive and multimodal visualization. In the current clinical practice, SLNs are typically marked prior to surgical resection by multiple and sequential injections of two tracers, the radioactive tracer and methylene blue (MB) dye. This imposes physical and psychological burden on patients and medical staff.

Blastoids are a promising model for studying early human embryogenesis, but current models have limitations in post-implantation development and lack comprehensive epigenetic assessments, especially regarding genomic imprinting. These issues can lead to failures in accurately modeling early embryonic development. In this study, we developed a high-fidelity blastoid model using 4 chemicals + leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) (4CL) naive human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) (4CL blastoids).

Sunlight irradiation of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in surface water results in the production of photochemically produced reactive intermediates (PPRIs). This process is inevitably influenced by co-existing metal ions in aquatic environments; However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study, the effect of co-existing copper ion (Cu) on PPRIs produced by irradiation of DOM was systematically investigated, because Cu is a typical redox transient cation and has strong affinity to DOM.

Conjugated polymer donors have always been one of the important components of organic solar cells (OSCs), particularly those featuring simple synthetic routes, proper energy levels, and appropriate aggregation behavior. In this work, we employed a nonfused electron-deficient building block, dicyanobithiophene (2CT), for constructing high-performance donors. Combining this with side-chain engineering, two novel halogen-free polymer donors, PB2CT-BO and PB2CT-HD, were reported.
