Reconfiguration of brain network dynamics in bipolar disorder: a hidden Markov model approach.

Transl Psychiatry

December 2024

School of Computer Science and Technology (School of Data Science), Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan, 030024, China.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by severe disturbance and fluctuation in mood. Dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) has the potential to more accurately capture the evolving processes of emotion and cognition in BD. Nevertheless, prior investigations of dFC typically centered on larger time scales, limiting the sensitivity to transient changes.

Applications of Transformers in Computational Chemistry: Recent Progress and Prospects.

J Phys Chem Lett

December 2024

Macao Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Innovation Engineering, Macau University of Science and Technology, Taipa, Macau SAR 999078, China.

The powerful data processing and pattern recognition capabilities of machine learning (ML) technology have provided technical support for the innovation in computational chemistry. Compared with traditional ML and deep learning (DL) techniques, transformers possess fine-grained feature-capturing abilities, which are able to efficiently and accurately model the dependencies of long-sequence data, simulate complex and diverse chemical spaces, and explore the computational logic behind the data. In this Perspective, we provide an overview of the application of transformer models in computational chemistry.

Professionals' Perspectives of Smart Stationary Bikes in Rehabilitation: Qualitative Study.

JMIR Rehabil Assist Technol

December 2024

Background: Stationary bikes are used in numerous rehabilitation settings, with most offering limited functionalities and types of training. Smart technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotics, bring new possibilities to achieve rehabilitation goals. However, it is important that these technologies meet the needs of users in order to improve their adoption in current practice.

Objective: The RATIONALE-305 trial demonstrated that tislelizumab in combination with chemotherapy regimens was more beneficial than chemotherapy regimens alone in the treatment of patients with advanced gastric cancer or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (GC/GEJC). This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of tislelizumab combination chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced GC/GEJC from the perspective of the Chinese health service system.

Methods: A three-state partition survival model was constructed to evaluate the economics of tislelizumab combined with chemotherapy as the first-line treatment of advanced GC/GEJC.
