Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) is a common cause of chronic vestibular syndrome. Although previous studies have identified central abnormalities in PPPD, the specific neural circuits and the alterations in brain network topological properties, and their association with dizziness and postural instability in PPPD remain unclear. This study includes 30 PPPD patients and 30 healthy controls.

Electronic address:

Band topology has emerged as a novel tool for material design across various domains, including photonic and phononic systems, and metamaterials. A prominent model for band topology is the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) chain, which reveals topological in-gap states within Bragg-type gaps (BG) formed by periodic modification. Apart from classical BGs, another mechanism for bandgap formation in metamaterials involves strong coupling between local resonances and propagating waves, resulting in a local resonance-induced bandgap (LRG).

Topologically constrained DNA-mediated one-pot CRISPR assay for rapid detection of viral RNA with single nucleotide resolution.

EBioMedicine

January 2025

Department of Chemistry, Key Laboratory of Bioorganic Phosphorus Chemistry & Chemical Biology, Tsinghua University, New Cornerstone Science Foundation, Beijing, 100084, China. Electronic address:

Background: The widespread and evolution of RNA viruses, such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), highlights the importance of fast identification of virus subtypes, particularly in non-laboratory settings. Rapid and inexpensive at-home testing of viral nucleic acids with single-base resolution remains a challenge.

Methods: Topologically constrained DNA ring is engineered as substrates for the trans-cleavage of Cas13a to yield an accelerated post isothermal amplification.

Holey nanographene, an allotrope of carbon arranged in two dimensions, has gained remarkable attention as a nanomaterial with several potential uses in numerous industries, such as electronics, energy storage, healthcare, and environmental cleanup, because of its high carrier mobility, flexibility, transparency, high surface area, conductivity, and chemical stability. The fundamental holey nanographene is assembled in a linear form to create the holey nanographene chain (HNC) that is being discussed. To fully utilize it in various applications, it is essential to comprehend the basic ideas guiding its behavior at the nanoscale; for that, we find various topological indices for this holey nanographene chain using the cut method.

This research investigates the mechanism of the cyanide-type umpolung reaction in benzoin condensation using topological analysis of ELF and catastrophe theory. The study achieves a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of chemical bonds and non-bonding electron density in the reaction of benzaldehyde and cyanide ions. The results reveal that the reaction proceeds through five transition state structures, with the formation of Lapworth's cyanohydrin being the rate-determining step.
