Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) affects millions globally, with annual healthcare costs exceeding $100 billion in the United States alone, driving increasing interest in minimally invasive radiological interventions as treatment alternatives. This narrative review examines developments in collagenase chemonucleolysis for LDH, integrating a literature analysis with clinical experience. Key advancements include the transition from single-agent to combination therapies, exploration of diverse injection routes, and the progression from C-arm fluoroscopy to multi-slice CT guidance.

Electrosurgery (ES) offers a promising alternative to conventional steel scalpel surgery (SSS), providing superior hemorrhage control and efficient tissue dissection with minimal invasiveness. Given the limited literature, this study aims to compare the clinical efficacy of ES with that of SSS in bovine umbilical herniorrhaphy. Fourteen crossbred male calves with reducible umbilical hernias, aged less than one month and weighing 25-47 kg, were randomly assigned to two experimental groups: group A (ES) and group B (SSS), each containing seven calves.

Objectives: Globally, hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) ranks seventh in women's cancer and fifth in men's cancer. Early identification can minimize mortality and morbidity. MicroRNAs and Toll-like receptors have been suggested as potential new biomarkers for HCC; Therefore, we explored Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) and miRNA 15b-5p as new non-invasive HCC biomarkers and early detection approaches.

Light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) has emerged as a transformative imaging technique in the study of drug delivery and embryonic development, offering high-resolution, real-time visualization with minimal phototoxicity. This review examines the application of LSFM in tracking drug pharmacokinetics, tissue-specific targeting, and drug efficacy during critical phases of embryonic development. Recent advancements in fluorescent labeling and machine learning integration have enabled more precise monitoring of drug release, distribution, and interaction with developing tissues.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the clinical benefits of the integrated optical and magnetic surgical navigation system in assisting transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy (TELD) for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent TELD for LDH at our hospital from November 2022 to December 2023. Patients treated with the integrated optical and magnetic surgical navigation system were defined as the navigation-guided transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy (Ng-TELD) group (30 cases), while those treated with the conventional X-ray fluoroscopy method were defined as the control group (31 cases).
