Purpose: To evaluate the changes in the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), macular thickness, and focal macular electroretinograms (FMERGs) after three intravitreal injections of bevacizumab for a choroidal neovascularization (CNV) associated with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Methods: The medical records of 18 eyes of 18 patients who had received three consecutive monthly intravitreal injections of bevacizumab were retrospectively studied. The BCVA, macular thickness determined by optical coherence tomography (OCT), and FMERGs were measured before the first injection, and 10 days after each of the intravitreal bevacizumab injections.
Results: The number of eyes with improvement in BCVA after the first injection was one (6%), after the second injection was four (22%), and after the third injection was five (28%). The number of eyes with reduction in macular thickness was 4 (33%), 8 (44%), and 10 (56%) after each of the three injections. The number of eyes with increase in b-wave amplitude of the FMERGs was 7 (38%), 6 (33%), and 10 (56%) after each of the three each injections. The mean macular thickness was significantly thinner after the first injection, and the mean BCVA was significantly improved after the second injection. The mean amplitude and implicit time of the b-wave of the FMERGs were significantly improved only after the third injection (P<0.05).
Conclusions: All parameters improved but the best was after the third injection, indicating that three monthly intravitreous injections with bevacizumab may be an effective treatment regimen for AMD.

Closure rate of full-thickness macular holes (FTMHs) with basal diameter >1000 μ is known to be poor. Patients presenting with FTMH having a minimum basal diameter of >1000 μ without any coexistent retinal morbidity were offered vitrectomy, internal limiting membrane peeling, retinal massage, and aspiration of subretinal fluid from the MH. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze choroidal thickness (CT), along with macular thickness (MT), peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT), and macular vascular density (MVD) using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) in children with unilateral amblyopia, and compare the same with normal fellow eyes and normal eyes of normal children before and following occlusion therapy.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective, longitudinal study of 60 children (4-18 years); 30 children had unilateral amblyopia and remaining 30 were normal. Group 1 consisted of 30 amblyopic eyes of children with unilateral amblyopia; Group 2 consisted of 30 fellow normal eyes of Group 1; Group 3 consisted of normal eyes of normal children.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of foveal bulge presence on visual acuity (VA) in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
Methods: Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) scans were conducted on 22 DME patients and 20 RVO patients. Ordinary least squares (OLS) regression was employed to analyze the association between VA and the presence of the foveal bulge, as well as factors such as sex, age, central foveal thickness, various line scans of the fovea, and the external limiting membrane (ELM).

Objective This study aims to evaluate the real-world efficacy of ranibizumab biosimilar (Ongavia), compared to aflibercept (Eylea), in the treatment of treatment-naïve neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) at a busy tertiary eye care centre. Methods A retrospective analysis of medical records from August 2022 to August 2024 was conducted, comparing treatment outcomes in treatment-naive nAMD patients who received either Ongavia or Eylea intravitreal anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) injections under a treat-and-extend protocol. Initial and 12-month outcome measures post-treatment initiation were collected, including best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central retinal thickness (CRT), prescribed treatment intervals, actual injection frequency, and the average total number of injections per eye over 12 months.

Purpose: Ozurdex is a dexamethasone intravitreal implant approved for the treatment of macular edema secondary to branch or central retinal vein occlusion, non-infectious uveitis affecting the posterior segment of the eye, and diabetic macular edema.
Patients And Methods: We report a case of an accidental injection of the implant into the crystalline lens, successfully managed by surgery afterwards. The case description is supported by Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography (AS-OCT) images.
