The plasmid-mediated transfer of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in complex microbiomes presents a significant global health challenge. This review examines recent technological advancements that have enabled us to move beyond the limitations of culture-dependent detection of conjugation and have enhanced our ability to track and understand the movement of ARGs in real-world scenarios. We critically assess the applications of single-cell sequencing, fluorescence-based techniques and advanced high-throughput chromatin conformation capture (Hi-C) approaches in elucidating plasmid-host interactions at unprecedented resolution.

Ultrasound imaging can provide 3D images of soft tissue structures in real-time without harmful radiation. Due to its high level of availability and low-cost characteristics, it is becoming more and more interesting for therapy guidance purposes like in radiotherapy. However, for usage in radiotherapy a robust and real-time image analysis method is required to be able to track the target during the treatment session.

is a free, weekly organized mass participation physical activity event providing a remarkable example of at-scale dissemination, with over 1 million participants and 150,000 volunteers in Australia. This qualitative study draws on stakeholders' experiences to explore how succeeded with its dissemination and sustainability in Australia. Maximum variation and snowball sampling methods were used to select interviewees representing three stakeholder groups: Australia employees; volunteer organizers (event directors and ambassadors); and local external stakeholders (e.

Objective: Transcranial electrical stimulation (TES) is an effective technique to modulate brain activity and treat diseases. However, TES is primarily used to stimulate superficial brain regions and is unable to reach deeper targets. The spread of injected currents in the head is affected by volume conduction and the additional spreading of currents as they move through head layers with different conductivities, as is discussed in [1].

Importin α is a crucial player in the nucleocytoplasmic transport of nuclear localization signal (NLS)-containing cargo proteins and is suggested to bind to DNA directly. We hypothesized that importin α, after binding to DNA, may move along DNA via sliding or hopping. We investigated the movement dynamics of importin αs fused to AcGFP along DNA using single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and single-tethered DNA arrays.
