The precise control of browning and enhancement of Maillard reaction kinetics to improve the surface functionality and nutrient encapsulation efficiency of soy proteins remains a significant challenge. This research presents an ultrasound-assisted cyclic reaction method (1-7 cycles) to synthesize soy protein isolate/dextran (SPI/D) conjugates with enhanced grafting degree and functionality during the Maillard reaction. The technique significantly increased the grafting degree to 65.

The interrelationality of health and peace is complex, multifactorial, and imbued with political and economic challenges. Peace and health outcomes reflect shared fundamental values related to the achievement of a balanced holistic condition on the individual and collective level. This causal relationship between social inequity and health requires special attention be paid to the impact of political instability and structural violence on undermining health systems in conflict zones.

Objectives: To understand processes contributing to Chinese American adolescents' civic engagement, our study examined: (a) the mediating role of Chinese American adolescents' ethnic identity resolution in the associations between their parents' cultural socialization and their own civic engagement (i.e., political participation and civil participation), (b) the moderating role of parents' racial socialization competency in the association between parents' cultural socialization and adolescents' ethnic identity resolution, and (c) the moderating role of adolescents' behavioral acculturation toward American culture in the associations between adolescents' ethnic identity resolution and civic engagement.
