A study was made of the significance of mononuclear phagocytes in the outcome of post-inflammatory++ peritoneal repair and onset of peritoneal adhesions. It has been revealed that patients with adhesions occurring in the postoperative period manifest insufficiency of the macrophagal response characterized by a decrease of the content of macrophagal elements in peritoneal exudate and derangement of macrophagal migration in the skin fenestra test during reproduction of aseptic inflammation. It is assumed that stimulation of mononuclear phagocytes can serve a means for preventing peritoneal adhesions.

Peritoneal tuberculosis (TB) is a rare extrapulmonary form of TB that often mimics ovarian malignancy, posing diagnostic challenges. This report presents a 16-year-old Jordanian female with abdominal distension, weakness, anorexia, and night sweats. Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease that affects 1 in 10 reproductive-aged women. Most studies investigate established disease; however, the initiation and early events in endometriotic lesion development remain poorly understood. Our study used neutrophils from human menstrual effluent from subjects with and without endometriosis for immunophenotyping, and a mouse model of endometriosis and a mouse endometriosis cell line to determine the role of neutrophils in the initiating events of endometriosis, including attachment and survival of minced endometrial pieces.
