The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(12)N(2)O(3), contains two mol-ecules in which the benzene and isoxazole rings are almost coplanar, the dihedral angles between their mean planes being 1.76 (9) and 5.85 (8)°. The two mol-ecules inter-act with each other via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into layers parallel to the ac plane. The layers stack in a parallel mode with an inter-layer distance of 3.36 (7) Å.

Sustainable management of textile industrial wastewater is one of the severe challenges in the current regime. It has been reported that each year huge amount of textile industry discharge especially the dye released into the environment without pre-treatment that adversely affect the human health and plant productivity. In the present study, different bacterial isolates had been isolated from the industrial effluents and investigated for their bioremediation potential against the malachite green (MG) dye, a major pollutant of textile industries.

Photocatalytic detoxification of a sulfur mustard simulant using donor-enhanced porphyrin-based covalent-organic frameworks.

Photocatalytic detoxification of sulfur mustards (, bis (2-chloroethyl) sulfide, SM) is an effective approach for protecting the ecological environment and human health. In order to fabricate COFs with high performance for the selective transformation of the SM simulant 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide (CEES) to nontoxic 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfoxide (CEESO), three porphyrin-based COFs with different donor groups (R = H, OH, and OMe) were synthesized. Among these COFs, COF-OMe, which possesses the strongest electron-donating ability, demonstrated a faster and higher detoxification rate of CEES at various concentrations, achieving selective oxidation of CEES to non-toxic CEESO with 99.

Synthesis and characterization of heterotrimetallic Mg-Ni-Mg complexes with amidinato ligands.

Dalton Trans

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Organic Synthesis of Jiangsu Province, College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Soochow University, Suzhou 215123, P. R. China.

Treatment of amidinato-based magnesium ethyl compounds LMgEt [L = PrPNC(Bu)NAr; Ar = 2,6-PrCH (La) or 2,6-(PhCH)-4-Pr-(CH) (Lb)] with Ni(COD) (COD: 1,5-cyclooctadiene) afforded heterotrimetallic Mg-Ni-Mg complexes [(LMg)Ni(CH)] through β-H elimination. These complexes exhibit approximately linear Mg-Ni-Mg linkage with the central nickel arranged in a planar configuration; the Ni(CH) unit can be considered as nickela-bis-cyclopropane. Reaction of [(LMg)Ni(CH)] with tetrahydrofuran (THF) gave a coordination product [(LMg·THF)Ni(CH)], in which the central structure remained intact and THF coordinated to two magnesium atoms respectively.

Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining is widely used to stain osteoclasts in histological bone sections. The red dye formed by the conventional TRAP enzymatic reaction using naphthol AS-MX (or AS-BI) phosphate and fast red-violet (or garnet) chromogens is readily soluble in alcohol or xylene and requires air-drying prior to cover slipping or the use of an aqueous mounting medium. However, the use of an aqueous mounting medium makes it difficult to store stained specimens for a long time.

Introduction: Programmed death-1 (PD-1) is a negative regulator of immune responses. Upon deletion of PD-1 in mice, symptoms of autoimmunity developed only after they got old. In a model experiment in cancer immunotherapy, PD-1 was shown to prevent cytotoxic T lymphocytes from attacking cancer cells that expressed neoantigens derived from genome mutations.
