Background: While social support is associated with better cognitive health among cancer-free individuals, this relationship is understudied among cancer survivors. We investigated whether overall social support before and after a cancer diagnosis is related to post-diagnosis memory ageing, overall and by sex/gender.
Methods: Data were from 2044 cancer survivors in the US Health and Retirement Study (HRS; n=1395) and English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA; n=649) from 2006 to 2018.

The impact of interlayer shear stress on the distribution of earth pressure in cohesive soil is notable, but currently, there lacks a comprehensive theory that integrates this factor in the calculation of active earth pressure. Drawing from the Mohr stress circle specific to clay soils, a formula to calculate interlayer shear stress has been derived. Moreover, a robust model has been formulated to compute the active earth pressure in clay soils, incorporating elements such as interlayer shear stress, effects of displacement, soil arching, and the morphology of the sliding surface.

While the multiple cognitive deficits model of reading difficulties (RD) is widely supported, different cognitive-linguistic deficits may manifest differently depending on language and writing system characteristics. This study examined cognitive-linguistic profiles underlying RD in Hebrew, characterised by rich Semitic morphology and two writing versions differing in orthographic consistency-a transparent-pointed version and a deep-unpointed version. A two-step cluster analysis grouped 96 s graders and 81 fourth graders based on their phonological awareness (PA), rapid naming (RAN), orthographic knowledge (OK) and morphological-pattern identification (MPI) abilities.

Active recall, the act of recalling knowledge from memory, and games-based learning, the use of games and game elements for learning, are well-established as effective strategies for learning gross anatomy. An activity that applies both principles is Catch-Phrase, a fast-paced word guessing game. In Anatomy Catch-Phrase, players must get their teammates to identify an anatomical term by describing its features, functions, or relationships without saying the term itself.
