Although recent research suggests that individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) may be an effective treatment for female sexual dysfunctions, we have little information regarding predictors of treatment response. The goal of the current study was to assess the degree to which pre-treatment relationship satisfaction predicted treatment response to cognitive behavioral sex therapy. Women with sexual dysfunction (n = 31, M age = 28 years, 77.4 % Caucasian) receiving cognitive-behavioral sex therapy with or without ginkgo biloba, as part of a wider randomized clinical trial, were assessed pre- and post-treatment using validated self-report measures of sexual satisfaction, sexual distress, sexual functioning, and relationship satisfaction. Pre-treatment relationship satisfaction predicted changes in sexual satisfaction and distress, but not sexual functioning. Women with higher relationship satisfaction at intake experienced larger gains in sexual satisfaction and distress over the course of treatment. Pre-treatment relationship satisfaction also moderated the association between changes in sexual functioning and changes in sexual distress, such that improved functioning was associated with decreased distress only for women entering therapy with high relationship satisfaction. These findings suggest that, for women with low relationship satisfaction before entering treatment, improvement in sexual functioning may not be enough to alleviate their sexual distress.

Purpose: Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation (TEAS) is a noninvasive technique that involves the application of electrical stimulation to specific acupoints on the skin. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of TEAS in alleviating postoperative pain after gynecological surgeries.
Method: A systematic search of multiple electronic databases was carried out to identify relevant studies that investigated the use of TEAS for postoperative pain management in gynecological surgery settings.

Background: Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine emerged as an important option that supports and facilitates clinical practice, however, its usefulness in emergency settings that treat patients with cancer is unclear.
Objective: To evaluate patient perception of physician empathy in an emergency oncology setting, comparing video interaction to an in-person with personal protective equipment (PPE) approach.
Methods: In this single-center, prospective, cross-sectional, survey-based randomized controlled trial, patients were randomized 1:1 for the concluding conversation done in-person which included either interacting with physicians wearing PPE or video interaction with physicians without PPE (virtual).
In this case report, we show a strategic approach to prolonging the lifespan of pathologically migrated maxillary canines with a hopeless prognosis in a 57-year-old female patient, highlighting the potential of orthodontic management for middle-aged patients to enhance both occlusion and facial esthetics while minimizing the need for extensive prosthetic treatment. According to the visual treatment objective, the nonextraction treatment plan showed advantages in the type of orthodontic tooth movement and final occlusal relationship. Therefore, considering the favorable periodontal treatment results and single-root teeth, the hopelessly migrated maxillary canines were relocated, eliminating the existing trauma from occlusion.

COVID-19 has brought health protection to the top of the political agenda in many countries, at the cost of reduced freedoms, social relationships, and economic opportunities. This context may have led individuals to pay more attention to their health and to attach greater importance to it in life satisfaction. This paper examines the possibility of an increase in the correlation between life and health satisfaction after the onset of the pandemic using repeated cross-sectional data in France between 2016 and 2021 and an original jittering strategy to smooth the ordinal variables of life and health satisfaction in regression models of subjective well-being.
