Timely and humane euthanasia is crucial for animal welfare on swine farms, yet challenges persist in its implementation, particularly in Brazil, where the responsibility often falls to caretakers lacking training. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of swine caretakers regarding euthanasia across non-integrated farms (ranging from 1,000 to 3,500 housed sows) and different experience levels (from less than a month to 40 years working with pigs). A total of 117 people directly working with pigs participated in a survey designed to evaluate their decision-making skills, euthanasia competencies, and understanding of Brazilian guidelines for euthanasia methods.

This study of clinicians working in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) in the United Kingdom (UK) investigates the prevalence and character of surgical performance anxiety (SPA), a state of anxiety in response to negative evaluation by others concerning the performance of a surgical task. There is growing awareness of the impact of non-technical skills on patient outcomes with some research into SPA, but this is not OMFS-specific, and the understanding of performance anxiety in surgery falls behind comparable performance-driven professions. A prospective mixed-methods study was therefore conducted among UK OMFS clinicians using an electronic survey.

Objective: Adults who undergo strabismus surgery, in addition to cosmesis, could benefit from improved stereopsis. This improvement is associated with the performance of motor skill tasks in young adults; they reduce the risk of tripping or falling during everyday locomotion and improve reading efficiency. This study aimed to assess stereopsis level after strabismus surgery in adults who underwent strabismus surgery for any reason.
