We present a small and compact two-color cross-correlation light-scattering setup designed to study the structure and dynamics of colloidal suspensions in the regime of considerable turbidity. Using a homemade concentric four-arm goniometer, combined with fiber-optical illumination and detection devices, allows an easy and long time stable alignment-even under a temperature variation of ∼5 °C. Tests with a nearly multiple scattering free suspension of small Rayleigh scatterers show intercepts in cross correlation near 0.4 over a wide range of scattering angles from 20° to 150°. Measuring slightly turbid samples in cross-correlation mode multiple scattering is sufficiently suppressed allowing the determination of multiple scattering free dynamic structure factors as well as particle form factors.

Thermoelectrics can mutually convert between thermal and electrical energy, ensuring its utilization in both power generation and solid-state cooling. BiTe exhibits promising room-temperature performance, making it the sole commercially available thermoelectrics to date. Guided by the lattice plainification strategy, we introduce trace amounts of Cu into n-type Bi(Te, Se) (BTS) to occupy Bi vacancies, thereby simultaneously weakening defect scattering and modulating the electronic bands.

The synthesis of barbituric acid-functionalized BODIPY derivatives via Vilsmeier and Knoevenagel reactions was achieved, and the resulting compounds were characterized with FT-IR, H NMR, C NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. Hydrogen bond-mediated self-assembled structures were investigated through UV-vis and fluorescence spectrophotometry, H NMR spectroscopy, and a dynamic light scattering method in solution.

Research into nanoparticle interactions with biomolecules has become increasingly important in nanomedicine. While lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are widely used as drug delivery systems, there remains a gap in understanding their fate in circulation, which is crucial for selecting appropriate lipids during formulation development. This study is the first to use Asymmetric Flow Field Flow Fractionation (AF4) to compare two types of LNPs: MC3-LNPs and SM-102-LNPs, and their interactions with a model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA).

Background: The detection of multiple bluetongue virus serotypes, increasing trend in livestock density, rich biological diversity with high endemism, and the status of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a popular tourist destination underscore the need for a faunistic survey of medically and veterinary significant vector species, specifically Culicoides, in this region. Moreover, scattered information on Indian Culicoides species complicates the planning and implementation of preventive measures for pathogens transmitted by these vectors. This study aims to provide the first comprehensive account of the Culicoides fauna in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, along with an updated checklist of Indian Culicoides species and their state-wise distribution.
