Objective: To study the major metabolites of ferulic acid and gallic acid compatible with Danggui Chishaoyao in rat plasma and urine.
Method: The metabolites of ferulic acid and gallic acid in rat plasma and urine were analyzed after oral administration of compatible Danggui Chishaoyao using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS.
Result: On the basis of the mass information, it was inferred that in vivo metabolites of ferulic acid were be in the form of methylation products, sulfate conjugation products and glucuronidation conjugation products and so on; meanwhile, gallic acid was mainly transformed into eduction products and methylation products.
Conclusion: There are kinds of phase I and phase II metabolites of ferulic acid and gallic acid in rat plasma and urine, which provide a basis for its efficacious materials and action mechanism.

3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA; Ecstasy) is a widely abused recreational drug that has also gained interest for potential clinical applications in mental health. With the growing recognition of gut microbiota's role in mental health, this study examined whether repeated oral MDMA administration could affect gut microbiota in the small intestine, cecum, and colon of male rats. Repeated oral MDMA administration (10 mg/kg/day for 14 days) caused significant changes in the gut microbiota across these regions, with distinct effects observed in each.

Background: Ginsenosides, the primary active ingredients in Panax ginseng, are secondary metabolites. However, their content varies significantly across batches due to differences in environmental conditions and production methods. Ecological stress can increase the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in plants, and ROS can enhance secondary metabolism.
