Although the corticosteroid betamethasone is routinely administered to accelerate lung and cardiovascular maturation in the preterm fetus prior to birth, and use of delayed cord clamping (DCC) is recommended at birth by professional bodies, it is unknown whether antenatal betamethasone alters perinatal pulmonary or systemic arterial blood flow accompaniments of DCC. To address this issue, preterm fetal lambs [gestation 127 (1) days, term = 147 days] with (n = 10) or without (n = 10) antenatal betamethasone treatment were acutely instrumented under general anaesthesia with flow probes to obtain left (LV) and right ventricular (RV) outputs, major central arterial blood flows and shunt flow across both the ductus arteriosus and foramen ovale (FO). After delivery, lambs underwent initial ventilation for 2 min prior to DCC.

Article Synopsis
  • Response inhibition is crucial for cognitive function, with key brain regions involved being the presupplementary motor area (preSMA) and the right inferior frontal cortex (rIFC), though their specific roles are debated.
  • Using fMRI, this study examined how these regions contribute to stopping responses during tasks designed to measure inhibitory control, specifically the Go/No-Go task and the Stop Signal Task.
  • Findings indicated that the rIFC is linked to pausing responses, while the preSMA is more directly involved in stopping responses effectively, supporting the Pause-then-Cancel Model.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of non-pharmacological interventions in improving chemotherapy induced delayed nausea and vomiting symptoms using a network meta-analysis.

Methods: Four Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP, Sinomed) and five English databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL) were searched from the establishment of the database to April 2024. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed on the response rate to the improvement of chemotherapy induced delayed nausea and vomiting, as well as improvement in KPS score, under different non-pharmacological interventions by using R 4.

Diabetic polyneuropathy is the common neuropathy of diabetes. However, several inflammatory neuropathies may occur during diabetes. Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) represents the most treatable example.

The coffee-ring effect, caused by uneven deposition of colloidal particles in perovskite precursor solutions, leads to poor uniformity in perovskite films prepared through large-area printing. In this work, the surface of SnO is roughened to construct a Wenzel model, successfully achieving a super-hydrophilic interface. This modification significantly accelerates the spreading of the perovskite precursor solution, reducing the response delay time of perovskite colloidal particles during the printing process.
