Pterygomaxillary separation (PMS) is an important step in Le Fort I osteotomy procedure, without which complete mobilization of the maxilla cannot be achieved. The aim of this study was to evaluate PMS patterns and their relationship with the anatomic measurements in Le Fort I osteotomy. In this prospective observational study cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was used to measure the anatomic variables of the pterygomaxillary junction (PMJ) region including thickness, width, the distance between the most concave point at the lateral surface of PMJ and the greater palatine foramen (C-GPF), and the angle preoperatively, and the separation patterns postoperatively divided into the clean-cut type, maxillary sinus type, and the pterygoid fracture type.

Activation parenting (AP) is a parenting construct derived from research and theory on paternal caregiving that includes behaviors that challenge children to approach novel situations, explore their environments, and take physical and socioemotional risks through a balance of encouragement and limit-setting. Although components of AP have been linked to different domains of children's self-regulation skills, comprehensive measures of AP and longitudinal research on families from low socioeconomic backgrounds are lacking. These limitations greatly constrain our understanding of the potential benefits of paternal AP for children's self-regulation development, including the maturation of inhibitory control (IC) in early childhood.

We are the first to investigate the expressions of miRNAs and the characterization of exosomes in boiled and pasteurized milk. This study is based on clinical signs and CMT, where twenty buffalo milk samples were divided into normal and sub-clinical mastitis and a third group of ten commercial pasteurized milk.

We have previously demonstrated that subgingival levels of nitrate-reducing bacteria, as well as the in vitro salivary nitrate reduction capacity (NRC), were diminished in periodontitis patients, increasing after periodontal treatment. However, it remains unclear if an impaired NRC in periodontitis can affect systemic health. To determine this, the effect of nitrate-rich beetroot juice (BRJ) on blood pressure was determined in 15 periodontitis patients before and 70 days after periodontal treatment (i.
