Background And Objective: Non-motor symptoms frequently develop throughout the disease course of Parkinson's disease (PD), and pose affected individuals at risk of complications, more rapid disease progression and poorer quality of life. Addressing such symptom burden, the 2023 revised "Parkinson's disease" guideline of the German Society of Neurology aimed at providing evidence-based recommendations for managing PD non-motor symptoms, including autonomic failure, pain and sleep disturbances.

Background: Despite being off-label, antipsychotics and antidepressants are widely prescribed to manage Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). Aim of our study was to assess the evolution of BPSD and psychoactive pharmacological therapy in older patients with dementia.

Method: In this retrospective observational study, outpatients with dementia underwent a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (ADL, IADL, CFS and CIRS), at baseline, 6-month and 12-month follow-up visits.

Purpose Of Review: Sleep disturbance and low dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids are common in modern society. Previous research shows that omega-3 fatty acids play an integral role in the regulation of sleep processes, but efficacy data in adults have been equivocal to date. This review examines recent studies highlighting the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on sleep quality and circadian processes.

: This study determined real-life care trajectories before and after initiation of noninvasive ventilation (NIV) in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Caregiver adherence to respiratory management recommendations and the associated survival rate of people with ALS were also assessed. : Data were obtained from a tertiary center prospective ALS database that included 10 years of follow-up data for people with ALS.
