Fasciculin 1 from Dendroaspis angusticeps has been crystallized by vapour diffusion, in sodium acetate using sodium thiocyanate as precipitant. Tetragonal crystals (space group P4(1)2(1)2 or P4(3)2(1)2) diffract to 1.8 A resolution. The unit cell parameters are a = 40.4 A and c = 81.1 A. We estimated the presence of one molecule in the asymmetric unit.

Our study aimed to investigate the clinical benefits of combining pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) techniques for treating chronic lumbosacral radicular (CLSR) pain resulting from grade I spondylolisthesis (G1SL). Ninety-six patients with CLSR pain between March 2021 and March 2023 were included in this study, 58 patients with G1SL without instability on dynamic radiographs - Group A and 38 patients with instability - Group B. Pre-procedure, Group B had higher pain levels than Group A.

Background: Spectral power of slow rhythms in resting-state EEG increases along Alzheimer's disease (AD) continuum. Besides, recent studies have revealed 1) the importance of analyzing the aperiodic component of an EEG power spectrum and 2) the intrusions of sleep-like slow waves identifiable in wake EEG of animals and young adults. Importantly, the occurrence of these wake slow waves is known i) to increase after sleep deprivation, ii) to be associated with markers of sleepiness, and iii) to predict behavioral errors at different tasks.

Brainstem atrophy, particularly in the locus coeruleus, has also been linked with poorer executive function. Studies showing brainstem as one of the first regions affected by AD largely employed novel imaging techniques such as neuromelanin-sensitive MRI, which is limited to research environments.

Background: Older vervet monkeys are an excellent model for studying age-associated Aβ deposition; however, they have high proportions of low-affinity Aβ sites compared to human brains. Commonly used Aβ PET radiotracers are most useful in detecting high affinity Aβ fibrils. Measuring real-time levels of low affinity Aβ fibrils through PET provides critical information of early AD progression.
