The enhancement of the procedure of quantitative gas chromatographic determination of fit acids in biologic liquids samples is proposed. Instead of the conventional Folch procedure of extraction of lipids with subsequent ablution, concentration and methylation of extracts the direct saponification and methylation of vacuum dried liquid samples (50-200 mkl) can be applied. To compare the effectiveness of the proposed and conventional procedures both of them had been applied to evaluate how converge the results of determination of composition of fat acids in whole blood, blood plasma, packed red blood cells, homogenates of hepatic and muscular tissues. The proposed procedure is applied to determine the characteristics of fat acids composition inpatients with ischemic heart disease.

Interorgan lipid transport is crucial for organism development and the maintenance of physiological function. Here, we demonstrate that long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase (dAcsl), which catalyzes the conversion of fatty acids into acyl-coenzyme As (acyl-CoAs), plays a critical role in regulating systemic lipid homeostasis. dAcsl deficiency in the fat body led to the ectopic accumulation of neutral lipids in the gut, along with significantly reduced lipoprotein contents in both the fat body and hemolymph.

The thermogenic brown and beige adipocytes consume fatty acids and generate heat to maintain core body temperature in the face of cold challenges. Since their validated presence in humans, the activation of thermogenic fat has been an attractive target for treating obesity and related metabolic diseases. Here, we reported that the opioid growth factor receptor () was highly expressed in adipocytes and promoted thermogenesis.

The monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1), encoded by gene , is a proton-coupled transporter for lactate and other monocarboxylates. MCT1-mediated lactate transport was recently found to regulate various biological functions. However, how MCT1 and lactate in the intestine modulate the physiology and pathophysiology of the body is unclear.

Currently, the identification of valuable candidate genes affecting milk fat synthesis in dairy cows is still limited, and the specific regulatory mechanism is still unknown. In this study, we used primary bovine mammary epithelial cells(BMECs)as a model and utilized overexpression and knockdown techniques for the PI4K2A gene to investigate the specific mechanisms by which it regulates lipid metabolism in BMECs. We studied whether PI4K2A regulates the inhibition of trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (t10,c12-CLA) on lipid synthesis in BMECs.

Oleogels with solid-like properties can serve as substitutes for fats, thereby avoiding the consumption of high levels of saturated fatty acids. In this study, we developed a protein-polysaccharide composite network oleogel using whey protein isolate (WPI) and sodium alginate (SA) through an emulsion-templated method. Analysis with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed the presence of hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces between WPI and SA, which bolstered the oleogel's structure.
