Antiretroviral therapy (ART) retention and 5 early-warning indicators (EWIs) of HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) were abstracted at 27 adult and 4 pediatric clinics in Vietnam in 2009. Of 4531 adults and 313 children, 81.2% and 84.4% respectively were still on ART at 12 months. More than 90% of the clinics monitored achieved the World Health Organization (WHO) targets for lost-to-follow-up (LTFU), ART prescribing practices, and ARV supply continuity. Only 83.9% of the clinics met the target for first-line ART retention and 79.3% met the target for clinic appointment-keeping. Clinic factors (i.e. number of patients, administrative level, and geographical region) were associated with ART retention and LFTU. Data were useful in guiding public health action to optimize ART services.

Aims: With respect to midwives and nurse-midwife populations (1) measure and (2) explore professional identity and (3) explore how the midwifery profession may be best represented in the public realm.
Design: Convergent Parallel Mixed-Methods Design.
Methods: A web-based survey was used to collect data from 860 midwives and nurse-midwives from 102 countries between February and July 2022.

Sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) presents an opportunity to replace elemental sulfur as a "shuttle-free" cathode for secondary Li-S batteries, which can be an ideal choice for stationary energy storage due to its abundance, low cost, and sustainability. The electrolyte options for the state-of-the-art SPAN batteries have been limited to the flammable carbonate and ether ones, which raises safety concerns. Here, we explored the use of a non-flammable acetonitrile (AN) electrolyte for SPAN battery for the first time and identified the irreversible cleavage of C-S bonds of SPAN as the main reason for the failure of SPAN in AN electrolyte.

Context: Trees play a vital role in reducing street-level particulate matter (PM) pollution in metropolitan areas. However, the optimal tree growth type for maximizing the retention of various sizes of PM remains uncertain.
Objectives: This study assessed the PM reduction capabilities of evergreen and deciduous broadleaf street trees, focusing on how leaf phenology influences the dispersion of pollutants across particle sizes.
Data to Care (D2C) strategies - using routine data to facilitate identification and linkage back to care of people living with HIV who are not in care - have shown promise in high-income settings but received little attention in lower resourced or vertical HIV transmission prevention (VTP) contexts. In this proof-of-concept study, we monitored existing linked electronic medical records in near real-time to identify key gaps in postpartum VTP steps among 336 mothers living with HIV and their infants in Cape Town, South Africa (recruited March 2021 - April 2022). We attempted to confirm observed gaps through source data systems and telephonic tracing, and facilitated re-engagement in care where needed.

Adolescents and youth living with HIV (AYLHIV) often face significant challenges in HIV care. Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Malawi implemented the Red-Carpet Program (RCP) to provide fast-tracked services for AYLHIV in care. This study aimed to assess the effect of RCP on Provider-Initiated HIV testing, linkage to care and antiretroviral therapy (ART), and retention in care among AYLHIV in Blantyre, Malawi.
