Background: Endogenous phospholipids have a profound matrix effect in bioanalytical LC-MS methods and considerable effort is invested in strategies to minimize their impact either by removal during sample processing or chromatographic separation during the analytical run. The aim of the research presented in this article was to investigate the latter approach, under reversed-phase conditions.
Results: The retention of glycerophosphocholines (GPCs) in mobile phases employing acetonitrile demonstrated a complex 'U-shaped' relationship with the percentage of organic. Conversely, in mobile phases employing methanol, the relationship between retention and percentage of organic was entirely predictive and unaffected by changes in the mobile phase pH. The GPC elution profile was also qualitatively equivalent irrespective of the species from which the plasma was derived.
Conclusion: The predictive nature of GPC retention, under reversed-phase chromatography and with MeOH as organic modifier, is an important finding that should allow for a more streamlined and simplified strategy in the development of bioanalytical assays.

Background: Breastfeeding is vital for the health and well-being of both mothers and infants, and it is crucial to create supportive environments that promote and maintain breastfeeding practices.
Objective: The objective of this paper was to describe the development of a breastfeeding-friendly app called "bfGPS" (HKU TALIC), which provides comprehensive territory-wide information on breastfeeding facilities in Hong Kong, with the goal of fostering a breastfeeding-friendly community.
Methods: The development of bfGPS can be categorized into three phases, which are (1) planning, prototype development, and preimplementation evaluation; (2) implementation and updates; and (3) usability evaluation.

Background And Aims: Physical activity is a key component of secondary stroke prevention. Mobile health (mHealth) interventions show promise for enhancing post-stroke physical activity, but most studies have combined mHealth with onsite services. This study evaluated the feasibility and acceptability of a fully digitalised mHealth intervention for physical activity among individuals post stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) in Sweden.

Background: Isotopologues resulting from the labelling of molecules with deuterium have attracted interest due to the isotope effect observed in chemistry and biosciences. Isotope effect may also play out in noncovalent interactions and mechanisms leading to intermolecular recognition. In chromatography, differences in retention time between isotopologues, as well as between isotopomers have been observed resulting in two different elution sequences (isotope effects): the normal isotope effect when heavier isotopologues retain longer than lighter analogues, and the inverse isotope effect featuring the opposite elution order.

Despite having identical physicochemical properties, chiral molecules require effective separation techniques due to their distinct pharmacological effects. Polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases (CSPs) are widely used for chiral separations in liquid chromatography; however, the mechanisms of chiral recognition are not well understood. This research explored the adsorption, retention, and chiral recognition mechanisms of three amylose-based CSPs: Chiralpak ID, IF, and IG.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) rebounding during composting cooling phase is a critical bottleneck in composting technology that increased ARGs dissemination and application risk of compost products. In this study, mature compost (MR) was used as a substitute for rice husk (RH) to mitigate the rebound of ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) during the cooling phase of sewage sludge composting, and the relationship among ARGs, MGEs, bacterial community and environmental factors was investigated to explore the key factor influencing ARGs rebound. The results showed that aadD, blaCTX-M02, ermF, ermB, tetX and vanHB significantly increased 4.
