The stress status of a soil pressure cell placed in soil is very different from its stress state in a uniform fluid medium. The use of the calibration coefficient provided by the soil pressure cell manufacturer will produce a large error. In order to improve the measurement accuracy of the interface-type earth pressure cell placed in soil, this paper focuses on a single-membrane resistive earth pressure cell installed on the surface of a structure, analyzing the influence of loading and unloading cycles, the thickness and particle size of the sand filling, and the depth of the earth pressure cell inserted in the structure on the calibration curve and matching error, which were analyzed through calibration tests.

Background: Long-lasting insecticide-incorporated netting (LLIN) has successfully been used to impair mobility and prevent infestation of stored grain by stored product beetles. Understanding how to integrate LLIN with existing integrated pest management (IPM) tactics, such as phosphine fumigation, can further enhance IPM programs.

Results: We used three 110 metric tons (MT) capacity grain bins, and in each, 60 perforated buckets (e.

The potential clinical usefulness of electron density (ED) imaging, that can be directly estimated using dual-layer spectral computed tomography (CT), has been poorly investigated. We explored whether ED imaging might improve thrombus identification compared to conventional imaging in vitro. We evaluated mechanical thrombectomy material obtained from patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) treated in a tertiary level stroke center and immediately fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin and stored in polystyrene test tubes.

Cyclodextrins (CDs) exhibit versatile self-assembly properties due to their hydrophilic and hydrophobic components, with applications such as drug delivery and selective binding. While research on CD self-assembly is extensive, limited studies have explored their aggregation behavior, particularly in interactions with small ionic guests. The present work investigates the structure of β-CD tetramers aggregated with alkali metal chloride clusters using ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry (IMS-MS).

Single radio frequency bucket injection in the 88-Inch Cyclotron using a pulsed high voltage chopper.

Rev Sci Instrum

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, 1 Cyclotron Road, Berkeley, California 94720, USA.

A single radio frequency bucket of the 88-Inch Cyclotron is filled using a fast chopper located in the axial line. The bucket then accelerates until it reaches the deflector, at which point, it is extracted as a train of bunches. This phenomenon can be attributed to the characteristic multi-turn extraction of the cyclotron and, by simplifying the complex dynamics of a cyclotron, corresponds to the conceptual transfer function of the cyclotron.
