Introduction: Robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA) platforms require tibial and femoral pins to support rigidly fixed navigation arrays. These pins can be placed inside or outside the primary incision. We sought to compare 90-day complication rates between three different pin configurations: all-outside, intra-incisional femur/extra-incisional tibia, and all-inside.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a prevalent cardiac arrhythmia that greatly elevates the risk of stroke. This risk increases both during and after cardiac procedures, such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). There is an increasing interest in non-pharmacological treatments such as left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) and surgical ablation, intending to enhance both immediate and long-term postoperative results.

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of fibrin glue in preventing early recurrence of vitreous haemorrhage following surgery for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).
Design: Single masked randomized-controlled clinical trial SUBJECTS: Consecutive patients with vitreous haemorrhage due to PDR undergoing primary vitreoretinal surgery were screened. After completing all vitreoretinal manoeuvres including endo-cautery to bleeders, infusion pressure was gradually reduced to 5 mmHg.
Introduction: This research investigates the influence of the medical personnel shortage on the treatment of urolithiasis by comparing the complication rates in patients with urinary stones who undergo ureterorenoscopy with laser lithotripsy before and after the emergence of this unprecedented situation.
Methods: One hundred sixty patients undergoing ureterorenoscopy with laser lithotripsy for urolithiasis were retrospectively evaluated, segmented into pre- and post-pandemic cohorts. Complications that occurred preoperatively (during the waiting period for operation), intraoperatively, and postoperatively were documented to compare the complication rates between the two cohorts.

Regardless of the underlying etiology and success of PE, progressive liver fibrosis and eventually cirrhosis represent the dominant pathology and the end-stage of BA. Ascending bile duct injury-induced cholestasis, inflammation and ductular reaction provide profibrogenic cytokine environment leading to myofibroblast activation and rapid progression of fibrosis especially after unsuccessful portoenterostomy. Although liver fibrosis and development of cirrhosis play a crucial role in determining BA outcomes, the exact prognostic significance and dynamics of mild to moderate liver fibrosis remain unclear.
