This experiment is the first exploration of use of charge traps in the bulk of deposited top oxide and at the interface between thermal oxide and deposited top oxide. We report the operational characteristics of SiO2/SiO2 device structures with 0.5 microm gate width and length. Low power operations are achieved through very thin gate stacks of 3 nm of thermally grown oxide and 7 nm of deposited oxide. However, narrow memory windows have been acquired comparing with conventional silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) memory cells due to a low trap density at the interface between a grown oxide and a deposited oxide. Additionally, the electric field between the channel and the charge is determined by solving 1D Poisson equation at a given write voltage, then total tunneling current density is calculated to make a program modeling for charge trapping devices. Tunneling/trapping simulation based on Fowler-Nordheim (F-N) tunneling performed and it fits the programming curves well. The memory window is almost constant after 100,000 cycles, and the retention characteristics are deteriorated rapidly.

Fabrication of macroporous scaffolds with favorable mechanical and biological properties based on natural polysaccharides embedding inorganic components has emerged as a promising alternative for bone regeneration. We hypothesized that partially demineralized chitin containing natural calcium phosphate with suitable mechanical strength as the inorganic component is more favorable for this purpose than commonly used nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA). Therefore, a macroporous cryogel scaffold composed of gelatin (G), nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC), and partially demineralized chitin (PDCh), chemically crosslinked with oxidized dextran (ODex), was developed in this study.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a progressive chronic lung disease with a high incidence and poor prognosis. Despite extensive research into the mechanisms that initiate and drive the progression of pulmonary fibrosis, developing effective treatments remains challenging due to the multiple etiologies, pathogenic links, and signaling pathways involved in PF. Indeed, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) are central players in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis, and each of these factors influences distinct yet interconnected processes that collectively contribute to disease progression: Nrf2 upregulates antioxidants to mitigate oxidative stress, NF-κB modulates inflammatory responses, and TGF-β promotes fibroblast activation and extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition, leading to fibrosis.

Trace gas degradation is a widespread metabolic adaptation in microbial communities, driving chemosynthesis and providing auxiliary energy that enhances persistence during nutrient starvation. In particular, carbon monoxide and hydrogen degradation can be of crucial importance for pioneering microbial communities colonising new, oligotrophic environmental niches, such as fresh volcanic deposits or the aerial interface of the phyllosphere. After volcanic eruptions, trace gas metabolism helps pioneer colonisers to initiate soil formation in ash deposits and on recently solidified lava, a vital ecosystem service.

This study illustrates how a temporally consistent deposition reanalysis can be used 1/ as input data to ecosystem impact assessments, 2/ to understand past trends, and 3/ for validation of decadal to century-scale model scenarios. We have constructed a multi-decadal (1983-2013) reanalysis of nitrogen deposition (N) to northern Europe, including the Baltic Sea and the Scandinavian Mountains, using a combination of observations and modelling. We expanded the period with an operational annual reanalysis applying chemistry transport modelling, resulting in a fused dataset using the MATCH Sweden system for the period 1983-2021, and compared this to multi-century model scenarios of nitrogen deposition.

Background: Artemetin, a natural flavonoid, is well-known for its significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but its mechanisms in asthma are still unclear.
Purpose: This study aims to explore the therapeutic potential of Artemetin in mitigating airway inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction via ABCG2/RAB7A signaling pathway.
Methods: An HDM-induced mouse asthma model and HDM-treated BEAS-2B cell model were established, methods utilized included bioinformatics, molecular docking, Drug Affinity Responsive Target Stability (DARTS), and Cellular Thermal Shift Assay (CETSA), flow cytometry, Western blot, co-immunoprecipitation (CO-IP), immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence staining.
