Here we report that Th2 cytokines increase kallikrein 7 expression and function in keratinocytes. Our finding describes a link between the Th2 environment and epidermal barrier dysfunction in atopic dermatitis.

Whey protein (WP) contains two major allergenic proteins, α-lactalbumin and β-lactoglobulin, which significantly impact its incorporation and application in food products. Current research primarily focuses on the dynamic changes in allergenicity during the processing of individual protein components. To simulate realistic conditions in food processing, this study aims to investigate the effect of polyphenol oxidase cross-linking on the allergenicity of complex protein matrices.

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) incidence and deaths continue to rise, underscoring the need for improved cSCC prevention. Elimination of actinic keratosis (AK) precursor lesions is a major strategy to prevent cSCC. Topical calcipotriol and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) have been shown to eliminate AKs and reduce the risk of cSCC development, but the mechanism was undefined.

The continuous rise in skin cancer incidence highlights an imperative for improved skin cancer prevention. Topical calcipotriol-plus-5-fluorouracil (calcipotriol-plus-5-FU) immunotherapy effectively eliminates precancerous skin lesions and prevents squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in patients. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear.

Introduction: Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) causes reproductive and respiratory diseases in sow herds and piglets. The emergence of ORF5 RFLP 1-7-4-like (NADC34-like) PRRSV strain in China has brought a new round of challenges to PRRSV prevention.

Methods: In addition, recombinant adenovirus vaccine candidates against the newly emerged NADC34-like strain were constructed in the study; the immunogenicity of the vaccine was investigated in piglets.

Biological drugs are extensively used to treat various inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (AD), and rheumatoid arthritis. While generally effective and safe, these therapies have been increasingly associated with secondary development of vitiligo, especially with anti-TNF α and anti-IL17 drugs. Dupilumab, an IL-4 receptor alpha antagonist used in moderate to severe AD, rarely induces vitiligo.
