Objective: Aim: To evaluate the early postoperative results of surgical treatment of patients with inguinal hernias after laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (TAPP) using invasive and non-invasive methods of fixation of prosthetic material.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: The study included 76 patients (average age 61,4±15,3 years; 69 [91 %] males, 7 [9 %] females) with primary uncomplicated unilateral inguinal hernias who underwent TAPP. Patients were divided into two groups: group 1 - 52 patients in whom the AbsorbaTack fixation device was used to secure the mesh; group 2 - 24 patients in whom the LiquiBand FIX8 cyanoacrylate adhesive was used.

Purpose: Giant inguinoscrotal hernia (GISH) is a rare condition in high-income regions, and the management presents a significant challenge for surgeons. A retrospective analysis was conducted of a single center's experience in treating GISH by Lichtenstein approach. The objective was to gain insight into the characteristics of GISH and assess the clinical efficacy of the Lichtenstein approach, as well as the degree of improvement in patient quality of life (QoL).

The comfort food (CF) concept emerged during the latter half of the twentieth century. Although not well defined, CF can be described as familiar foods that elicit feelings of well-being and play a role in social interactions and psychological health. These foods are often calorically dense and nutrient-poor, and overconsumption of some CF may contribute to negative metabolic health outcomes.

Presenting symptoms of sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) are variable, and as imaging and EEG may be normal in the early to middle stages of the disease process, serial testing is vital when there is clinical suspicion for sCJD. We present a case of probable Heidenhain variant of sCJD (HvCJD) with notable rapid progression. A 72-year-old woman presented with neurological decline following new-onset visual changes.

Background: Psychological safety is imperative for effective simulation-based learning within healthcare education, yet it is challenging for educators to establish. A visual tool, "Simulation Tool to Enhance Psychological Safety" (STEPS) was incorporated into simulation-based activities for prelicensure nursing students to support (or strengthen) psychological safety.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the STEPS tool on psychological safety during simulated learning for prelicensure nursing students.
