Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) has been used extensively in the study of transport and binding in biological media in vitro. The present study adapts and further develops FRAP so that it may be utilized for the in vivo quantification of binding parameters. The technique is validated in vitro by measuring mass transport and binding parameters for the Concanavalin A/Mannose binding system (a diffusion-limited system). The pseudo-equilibrium constant (the product of the equilibrium constant and the total concentration of binding sites) for this system was determined to be 26 +/- 15 which compares favorably with literature values ranging between 16 and 32. The applicability of this technique to measure parameters for monoclonal antibody/antigen interactions in a thin tissue preparation such as the rabbit ear chamber tissue preparation is also examined. Unlike other methods for measuring binding parameters, this is the only technique which has the potential to measure parameters relevant to antibody delivery in vivo. The proposed technique is noninvasive and does not require a priori knowledge of, independent measurement of, or variation in the concentration of binding sites or total concentration of binding species.

Objective: Vaccinated patients with cancer in follow-up studies showed a high seropositivity rate but impaired antibody titres and T cell responses following mRNA vaccine against COVID-19. Besides clinical characteristics and the type of anticancer treatment before vaccination, the identification of patients susceptible to non-response following vaccination using immunological markers is worth to be investigated.
Methods And Analysis: All patients (n=138, solid cancers) were included in the CACOV-VAC Study comprising three cohorts ((neo)-adjuvant, metastatic and surveillance).

We present a machine learning (ML) workflow for optimizing electronic band structures using density functional tight binding (DFTB) to replicate the results of costly hybrid functional calculations. The workflow is trained on carbon, silicon, and silicon carbide systems, encompassing bulk, slab, and defect geometries. Our method accurately reproduces hybrid functional results by applying a DFTB-ML scheme to train and predict the scaling parameters of two-center integrals and on-site energies, which is particularly accurate for electronic band structures near the Fermi energy.

The complexation behavior and binding affinity of Triton X-100 (TX-100) and Triton X-114 (TX-114) with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) were extensively studied in an aqueous medium using a comprehensive suite of experimental techniques. These techniques allowed for the evaluation of key physicochemical parameters, including critical micelle concentration (cmc), aggregation number (), Stern-Volmer constant, and particle size distribution. These metrics were instrumental in understanding the underlying mechanism of the host-guest interaction between β-CD and Triton-X.

Background: Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), traditionally recognized for its hepatoprotective effects, has also shown potential in protecting kidney injury. This study aimed to evaluate the protective effects of UDCA against sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: Sixty male C57BL/6 N mice were utilized to establish a sepsis-induced AKI model through intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharides (LPS, 10 mg/kg).

Phthalates are synthetic compounds, well-known plasticizers, with numerous applications and reported to have adverse effects on all living organisms residing in terrestrial and aquatic environments. In this study, the rice (Oryza sativa) seedlings were exposed to di-butyl phthalate (DBP) exogenously for 7 days, with varying concentrations of 0, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 mg/L, to explore the toxicological, physiological, and biochemical consequences by measuring various parameters such as pigment, lipid, and HO (hydrogen peroxide) contents. The biochemical analysis of seedlings showed that the pigments, lipids, and HO concentrations were altered abnormally.
