This paper describes the morphological characteristics of a new species of Haemogregarina Danilewsky, 1885, from naturally infected Acanthodactylus boskianus (Daudin) in Egypt, based on both blood and tissue stages. The prevalence of infection was found to be 66% (33/50). The blood stages were found to be confined to the erythrocytes and could be differentiated into small and large forms. The small form (trophozoites) measures 8 × 3.5 μm, whereas the large form (mature gamonts) measures 12 × 5 μm. The tissue stages were observed only in the liver. Meronts occurred within parasitophorous vacuoles in hepatocytes and ranged from mononucleate forms to mature forms that contained c.10-15 merozoites.

Gene fusions involving JAZF1 are a recurrent event in low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma, and have been more recently described in few instances of endometrial stromal sarcoma-like tumors in the genitourinary tract of men. In this article, we describe a previously unreported spindle cell sarcoma harboring an in-frame JAZF1::NUDT5 gene fusion, arising in the chest wall of a 51-year-old man. The tumor had unique morphologic features resembling both endometrial stromal sarcoma and endometrial stromal sarcoma-like tumors, consisting of a mixture of cytologically bland and pleomorphic spindle cells with brisk mitotic activity, within an alternating myxoid and fibrous stroma.

Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility of utilizing cardiac computer tomography (CT) images for extracting the radiomic features of the myocardium at the junction between the left atrial appendage (LAA) and the left atrium (LA) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and to evaluate its asscociation with the risk of AF.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 82 cases of AF and 56 cases in the control group who underwent cardiac CT at our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023, with recorded clinical information. The morphological parameters of the LAA were measured.
