The anatomy of the murine olfactory receptor was analyzed using high-resolution scanning electron microscopy with the aldehyde-osmium-dimethyl sulfoxide-osmium method. A good three-dimensional image of the receptor cell architecture was obtained. Within the olfactory vesicle, a complex tubular network was found that seemed to be physically associated with adjacent organelles, the basal aspect of cilia, and the lateral plasmalemma. It is assumed that these structures may be of significance during the olfactory transduction process.

Background: Fibrotic types of interstitial lung abnormalities seen on high-resolution computed tomography scans, characterised by traction bronchiolectasis/bronchiectasis with or without honeycombing, are predictors of progression and poor prognostic factors of interstitial lung abnormalities. There are no reports on the clinical characteristics of fibrotic interstitial lung abnormalities on high-resolution computed tomography scans. Therefore, we aimed to examine these clinical characteristics and clarify the predictive factors of fibrotic interstitial lung abnormalities on high-resolution computed tomography scans.

Devices with a highly nonlinear resistance-voltage relationship are candidates for neuromorphic computing, which can be achieved by highly temperature dependent processes like ion migration. To explore the thermal properties of such devices, Scanning Thermal Microscopy (SThM) can be employed. However, due to the nonlinearity, the high resolution and quantitative method of AC-modulated SThM cannot readily be used.

Oral and maxillofacial diagnostic imaging is of paramount importance in dental clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up procedures. Periapical radiographic examination and numerous panoramic systems are used in routine clinical dental practice. Cone beam CT is widely used and currently the method of choice in oral and maxillofacial implantology, endodontics, maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, degenerative temporomandibular joint disease, orthodontics, airway studies, sleep disorders, and forensic dentistry.

Objective: This study aims to identify factors associated with the detectability of the right adrenal vein (RAV) on preoperative contrast-enhanced CT scans of adrenal venous sampling (AVS) in the era of high-resolution CT (HRCT).
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, 36 patients (15 men and 21 women; mean age, 56 y) who underwent preoperative contrast-enhanced CT [11 patients in HRCT with 0.25 mm detector matrix (Cannon Medical Systems) and 25 patients in conventional multidetector CT with 0.
We propose and demonstrate a compact on-chip optical spectrometer by integrating a tunable micro-ring resonator (MRR) with a 4-channel wavelength demultiplexer (DEMUX) based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) lattice filter. The MRR with a 3-dB bandwidth of 0.15 nm ensures the high resolution of the spectrometer.
