Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by memory and cognitive impairments. Previous studies have shown neuronal death in the brains of AD patients, but the role of cuproptosis and its associated genes in AD neurons remains unclear.
Methods: Intersection analysis was conducted using the AD transcriptome dataset GSE63060, neuron dataset GSE147528, and reported cuproptosis-related genes to identify the cuproptosis key gene highly expressed in AD.

Mitochondria are affected by chemical substances and play a critical role in drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Chemical substances can have a significant impact on various cellular processes, such as the disruption of oxidative phosphorylation, oxidative stress, and alteration of glucose metabolism. Given the consequences of these effects, it is crucial to understand the molecular pathways of chemical substances in the context of hepatotoxicity to prevent and treat DILI.

This paper presents the development of near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probes, and , engineered from hemicyanine dyes with 1,8-naphthalic and rhodamine derivatives for optimized photophysical properties and precise mitochondrial targeting. Probes and exhibit absorption peaks at 737 nm and low fluorescence in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) buffer. Notably, their fluorescence intensities, peaking at 684 () and 702 nm (), increase significantly with viscosity, as demonstrated through glycerol-to-PBS ratio experiments.

Mercury is one of the most hazardous heavy metals and is capable of biomagnification, thereby posing severe risks to ecosystems and human health. Therefore, selective, sensitive, and rapid detection of Hg in a wide range of samples is essential. Herein, we report the synthesis of a new 2-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) phenol-based fluorescent probe (PyS) and its potential as a fluorescent probe for detecting Hg ions in various real samples such as rice, garlic, shrimp, and root samples.

Objective: Electroacupuncture has been shown to play a neuroprotective role following ischemic stroke, but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Ferroptosis has been shown to play a key role in the injury process. In the present study, we wanted to explore whether electroacupuncture could inhibit ferroptosis by promoting nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) nuclear translocation.
