Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a diverse category with a subset that displays particularly aggressive characteristics, referred to in this study as "rapid relapse" TNBC (rrTNBC). This term is defined as the occurrence of distant metastasis or death within 24 months post-diagnosis. The paper mainly studies the clinicopathologic traits of TNBC patients experiencing rapid disease progression and chemotherapy resistance and identify predictive markers for this outcome.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer, and patients with the BRAF mutation often exhibit aggressive tumor behavior. Here, we identified Arylsulfatase I (ARSI) as a gene whose expression was significantly upregulated in BRAF PTC and was associated with poor prognosis. High ARSI expression correlated with advanced disease stage, BRAF mutation, and worse overall survival in PTC patients.

Objective: To characterize early physiologic stresses imposed by surgery by applying metabolomic analyses to deeply phenotype pre- and postoperative plasma and urine of patients undergoing elective surgical procedures.
Background: Patients experience perioperative stress through depletion of metabolic fuels. Bowel stasis or injury might allow more microbiome-derived uremic toxins to enter the blood, while the liver and kidney are simultaneously clearing analgesic and anesthetic drugs.

Background: Seroma formation is a prevalent postoperative complication following laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. While seromas are mostly self-absorbed, they can cause discomfort for the patient and complicate the assessment of hernia recurrence. Two primary techniques for managing the hernia sac are sac transection and complete sac reduction.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common degenerative condition causing low back pain (LBP) due to nerve compression. Previous studies show conflicting findings regarding the multifidus (MF) muscle's microscopic changes in LDH patients. So, this study aimed to compare the affected MF to the adjacent MF on the ipsilateral and contralateral sides in LDH patients and examined correlations with clinical features of LBP.
